Blackstar plopped me down on the ground roughly, I landed with a grunt as I saw Kid slap Blackstar on the shoulder.
"Could you at least be gentle?" He scrolled him, to which Blackstar shrugged waving him off. Kid turned to me with an apologetic smile.
"We'll be there tomorrow afternoon, we're just camping here for tonight." Kid explained to me as I sat up uncomfortably in my tied up chains. Kid knelt down next to me, laying his hand on my shoulder. I kept my gaze on the ground in front of me. "I'm sorry for everything that's happened to you in the past few days...I assure you my father means nothing but good for you." I turned to meet his gaze, his golden eyes seemed to glow with sincerity. As I opened my mouth to speak a loud crash made me and Kid jump.
Turning our attention to the noise, Blackstar had thrown down a giant pile of wood and stood with his hands on his hips with a proud smile on his face. "Time to get this fire started!" He proclaimed loudly dusting his hands off by clapping them together. I scowled in annoyance shifting uncomfortably in the chains, why the hell were these things so strong?
"Are they too tight?" Kid asked seeing me squirm, as he asked I stopped turning my head in the opposite direction.
"Well that's too bad. Any looser and she'll run off." Blackstar interrupted our conversation carelessly as he squatted down by his pile of wood arranging it to make a campfire.
"C'mon Blackstar, she'll get bruises." Kid complains trying to persuade Blackstar.
"Nah-uh. Not happening, I don't know about you but I don't want to be chasing this chick in the middle of the night because I made her chains too loose." He explains waving one of his hands behind him carelessly, focusing on his fire.
The scowl on my face only deepened, I can't even blame him because he's not wrong. I'm running the first chance I get. I let out a sigh before scooting backwards until my back hits a tree that was close by. Resting against the tree I let out a relieved sigh, even though I'm tied up I can get some rest without too much risk of getting killed. I closed my eyes and rested my head against the trunk of the tree, it wasn't until then I realized how tired I actually was. My eyes were heavy and the idea of opening them sounded painful, the cracks of burning wood began telling me Blackstar's fire started.
I was close enough to feel the warmth of the fire but I couldn't hear the boys. Opening an eye a crack I saw Blackstar and Kid on the other side of the fire talking intently. Kid seeming more serious and annoyed while Blackstar looked like he couldn't care less. That seemed to be his entire attitude, I still didn't understand why he seemed so familiar. It seemed as if he felt me staring as his gaze shifted over to me as Kid continued to talk at him, it seemed as if he were sizing me up. Everything about this kid just seemed challenging, like he was ready for a fight at any moment...it reminded me too much of my clan.
I couldn't tell if that was just the way he was or because I was around. I lazily closed my one eye again choosing to forget about the blue headed weirdo, whatever it was about him I'd figure it out soon enough.
A few hours went by while I kept my eyes close, I wanted to sleep but the fact two strangers were roaming around awake made me uneasy. One had left to go get food while the other stayed behind to watch me, I felt like a dog on a leash. Whoever stayed didn't bother talking to me, they either thought I was sleeping or just didn't care to try. When the other returned, the smell of cooking fish filled the air. I felt my stomach tighten, I haven't eaten in a while and it smelled amazing. I don't want it, not from my kidnappers.
"Hey, Tsubaki!" Blackstar shouted, who the hell was that? "You hungry? We got the food done!"
"No thank you, Blackstar! I'm alright." A kind gentle voice answered back that seemed to come from right below me. I looked down opening my eyes out of curiosity and saw no one but the weapon tied around my body, the voice definitely came from here. Then it dawned on me.
