Chapter 20: My Friend, Is My Enemy

"I killed him!" I yell staggering back, "Brutus!" Gena screams crawling toward him, "you monster!" She shrieks, and then she presses a button and the cage containing Lance opens, and Lance starts walking toward the lifeless corpse, and falls on his knees, "Lance I-" I get cut off when Lance uses Poison Jab, hitting me square in the chest as I hit the ground gasping for air, "you killed my father!" Lance shouts as he uses Blaze Kick, and I go flying out the window, luckily we were on the first floor, but it still hurt like Bisharp! And then Lance flies out the window using Brave Bird, but red uses Dragon Rush, knocking Lance away, "Go!" Red yells as Lance hits him with Blaze Kick, and without thinking twice I got up and ran, I'm sorry Lance, I had no choice....
I ran and ran and ran, not looking back once, you idiot! There could have been another way, but what way, he would have killed me! I just hope Red is ok.. and as it started raining, I went into what looked like a pub, "look who decided to show up.." a familiar voice says, "Parker?" I ask, "yup" he replies, "what are you doing here? And what are you drinking?" I ask sitting next to him, "is that beer?" I say shocked, "yeah so what?" Parker asks, looks like he had too much, "why are you drinking?" I ask scooting away a bit, "I got nothin, Pheonix is evil and ditched me, you guys have your work cut out for you and I'm just gonna sit here and drink" Parker says taking another gulp, "dude you went down a serious dark path, y-" I get cut off as Parker brings up his sword to my neck, "not in here boys, take it down stairs!" The Sandslash says serving more drinks, "lets go, or your head is gone.." Parker says getting up still holding the sword in my face, so I cooperate and go downstairs, where an arena awaits, "swords only!" Parker says kicking me to the other side, pulling out his shield, and I use Night Slash, holding the dark blade in my right arm, which luckily, wasn't bitten, "Fight!" Someone says from the crowd waiting for a fight, "aaaaaaahh!" Parker cries out using Sacred Sword, and I quickly block being pushed down in the process, and with all my strength, I was able to push Parker back throwing him off balance and going in for another hit, but I get blocked by his shield, making me bounce back, then Parker uses Fury Cutter, missing me by a hair, "I thought only one move!" I yell frustrated, "I changed my mind!" Parker says chucking his shield hitting me square in the face, making me fall, "that's it!!" I say swinging my dark blade quickly, releasing 5 dark blades spinning his way, so that's how it's supposed to be used! Nice! Then after blocking my attack, Parker uses Sword Dance, raising his attack a lot, and as he charges me, I use Water Shuriken, hitting his foot sending him falling, then I use Aerial Ace, punching him in the face knocking him out, "boy Parker, what are we going to do with you?" I say aloud, not caring about everyone who is watching, so I life Parker over my shoulder, and I start heading toward the Pokémon center, putting Parker on the bed next to me, "what happened to him?" The nurse asked who was a Sylveon asks,

"we got in a fight.." I replied, "why?" She asked checking his heart rate, "he got drunk..." I said embarrassed for Parker, "I see.." she said, getting some coffee for Parker, "this should help for the hangover" the nurse says now moving on to me, "that was Parker by the way, and I'm Max" I say unzipping my hoodie, which was stained with blood, I never noticed how much blood I actually lost, "I'm Melody" the nurse says, "may I ask where you got all these wounds?" Melody asks, taking my shirt off, "had a bad fight with Brutus the top gangster or something" I say as Melody looks at me in shock, "my that gangster must have been some psycho to do this to you" Melody says applying Full Heal to my wounds, "well he's dead now..." I say without a care in the world of what anyone would think, that moment when I killed Brutus, changed my life like that! "Oh....." Melody says not looking at my face, "now you know I'm a murderer, why are you still helping me?" I ask, wincing when she finished the last bandage around my chest, "because it's what I do" Melody says when she feels my head for temperature, "even though it might cost your life? Not that I'm gonna kill you or anything, I had enough fighting for a day" I say quietly, "well for one we don't completely die," Melody says as she gives me a regular T-shirt, "when we faint for good, our souls go to Magearna, and she keeps us till it's time to make more Pokémon to appear and we start as our first evolution again, and we have a fresh mind not remembering what happened before we fainted" Melody finishes by saying, "it's not good to kill, but even if you do you give that person another chance..." and she leaves me and Parker to rest.
