i really thought that me and josh would be friends now. but him talking to me that day was probably just a temporary thing. now it's back to normal, me having a hopeless crush on that god-like josh dun.

i scroll through my phone when suddenly this pops up;

and i almost jump up in excitement. after what felt like an eternity it finally says;

i swear i don't know if i've ever been happier in my entire life. maybe it's not something big but.. JOSH FRICKING DUN SENT ME A SNAP.
i wait a minute or two before i open it, i don't want to seem too desperate.

hi! uhm it feels awkward asking you this but like were you serious about helping me w school?

i jump up and down in my bed even though i'm super nervous.

i try not to sound too excited about it. because well i don't want to scare him away. not just yet.

i send him my address and that's it. i'm gonna meet him tomorrow. oh my god i can't believe. i decide to call jenna to tell her about the happy news.
-hello? she answers simply.
-HI OH MY GOD JENNA. YOU CANT BELIEVE WHAT JUST HAPPENED? i scream.
-what? you bought some rice crispies?
-no. what the fuck? IM MEETING JOSH DUN TOMORROW. FRIGGIN JOSH DUN. JENNA. JOSH. DUN.
-oh my god, what? she asks surprisingly.
-YEAH! we're just gonna do homework but.. STILL! i yell happily at the phone.
-of course.. she sighed heavily.
-what?
-you're such a nerd tyler. a laugh that i didn't recognize was heard in the background.
-who was that? i ask curiously.
-no one. bye tyler. she said with a very annoyed tone and ended the call.
uhm okay? eh whatever i'm MEETING JOSHUA DUN TOMORROW.

it's only 10 minutes left of the last class. i've looked at the clock at least 50 times only this minute. i'm so excited about meeting josh, but very nervous at the same time. i just want to get home so that i can prepare myself mentally for josh coming over. how am i supposed to describe like math and stuff to him if my mind is all over the place?

my thoughts flew away quickly and before i knew it the bell rung. i've never been happier about a bell ringing before. i collect my things as fast as i can and almost run out to the lockers.
after gathering all my things i walk to ashley's locker to say goodbye.
-bye ash! i hug her tight and smile brightly at her.
-bye ty. and good luck! she chuckled a bit.

as i'm walking to the exit i can see brendon and his friends sitting by the staircase right outside. i pull my hood up quickly and walk out, trying not to get noticed. i just passed them when someone yells my name and i have to turn around. josh is walking towards me with his cute smile.
-you wanna just start with the homework now, just to like get it over with? he said softly and sipped a little on his starbucks mug.
-uh-uhm, s-sure. let's go. i stuttered out. but all i wanted to say was "no, i have to prepare myself mentally before meeting you otherwise i won't be able to help you at all. so come at four. :)" unfortunately i did not say that.
-okay great. he smiled and turned around to face his friends.
-bye guys. see you later.
-you're going with that nerd? brendon laughed, cigarette between his teeth.
-yup. got a problem with that? he still had his happy tone and smiled brightly.
-no. you wanna bring him to me later? i'm sure he has never tried. brendon said and smirked at me.
-oh yeah sure. he just said and turned around to me again.

i connected my phone to the car and shuffled my playlist. hopefully he likes my music, if he doesn't.. he's weird. all i want came on. i looked at josh nervously to see his reaction, only to be met by him already staring at me. he snapped back and looked out the window thoughtfully.
-i love this song. he said softly, humming to the song.
-you do? i said surprised. i thought he would listen to like rap and hip hop.
-yeah. you didn't think i listened to this kind of music, right? he looked back at me again, i couldn't really tell how because i was driving, but i know for sure that he's beautiful right now.
-no. i admitted and chuckled nervously.
-i listen to other stuff too, but this song is a piece of art.
-i think all music is art. everything is art. i said softly without thinking, regret forming in my gut the second it came out.
-yeah that's true. he said calmly and looked out the window again.

the rest of the car ride was silent. beautifully silent. the only sound that broke through was small hums and the songs playing softly in the background. i loved every second of it, i hope josh did too.
