Devan's POV
I sat on the couch, watching Leah as she talked on the phone with someone from AGT. They wanted her to come back on the show and do another performance. My parents had offered to watch Emmy for a few days so that she could do that, and we could get some time to ourselves. She hung up, smiling."Well.....Guess what?" I raised an eyebrow, smirking.
"Hmm.....What?" She smiled, sitting down beside me and putting a hand on my knee, gently rubbing.
"I was told that I can do a duet for the performance.....And I know who I want to do a duet with." I smiled slightly, putting my hand on hers.
"And who might that be?" I whispered, leaning close to her. She smiled, kissing me, and my hand slipped around to her back. One of her hands moved to the back of my neck, and we pulled back after a minute."Hmm.....It's you." She whispered, and my breath caught in my throat.
"Me?" I whispered, and she smiled, nodding. I chuckled slightly, and I kissed her again. She smiled, moving her hands to my shoulders, and my hands moved to her waist."Yeah. I want you to do it with me." She smiled, and our foreheads rested against each other.
"What song do you want me to do with you?" I whispered, and she snuggled against me, leaning her head into my shoulder. I kissed her forehead, and she smiled."I hadn't decided that yet. Any personal opinions?" I shook my head.
"Not really. Maybe something a little older?" She smiled.
"Sounds good to me." Then, we heard Emmy start crying again. Leah sighed slightly, standing and going to get her. She came back out, our daughter bouncing in her arms."Dada!" She squealed, laughing. Leah knelt down, letting go of Emmy. She grinned, grabbing onto the sofa for a minute. I sat on the floor across from us, and she let go. She took one shaky step, and then another....And walked over to me. I laughed, catching her, and Leah grinned.
"You did it, baby! You did it!" I gently tossed her up in the air, and she giggled as I caught her. Leah stood off to the side, smiling as she watched. I saw her pick up her phone, and she took a picture of us. The next morning, we headed over to Steven and Anne's house, and we found Collins on the front porch, pacing. He spotted us and nearly jumped off the porch.
"Guys!! Guys, I need your help." I froze, shocked, and smirked.
"Wow.....I'm shocked. You....Collins.....You're actually asking for my help? Leah....The world is coming to an end!" She laughed, gently bouncing Emerson on her hip.
"Collins....Why do you need Devan's help?" He took a deep breath.
"It's got to do with Riley. I.....I know we've only been dating about a year, but....I....We've been talking a lot about getting married, and.....I wanna as me her to marry me." Leah smiled, and Emerson cooed. I froze, almost too shocked breathe."Why......Why do you want my help?" He exhaled sharply, and running a hand through his hair.
"I don't know what to do. What......what do you think?" I chuckled.
"Think about her, and who she is, and what she loves. Then, do something that would be special to her." He nodded slowly, smiling slightly. We headed inside, and found mom and dad in the living room, with dad trying to put together a crib, with mom directing him. I couldn't help but laugh, watching mom smack dad's hand, fussing at him for doing something wrong."Mom, you know you could just do it yourself, you know." She looked up, smiling slightly.
"I know. But someone insisted on helping, and he wouldn't take no for an answer." Leah laughed, and Emerson squirmed down, taking a few steps over to them. Mom laughed, catching her. Leah and I sat on the couch, watching as Collins tried to get her to walk to him, and she just sat there, giggling. I gently squeezed Leah's hand, and she smiled."Phantom Of The Opera." She said, and I gave her a strange look.
"Hmm?" She laughed quietly.
"The song we should do together. It's called Phantom Of The Opera." I smiled, kissing her forehead.
"Sounds good to me."
