Fionna POV

After school Marshall gave me a ride home as usual. When he left I walked inside the house and put my stuff down. I have no idea how to feel right now. I just broke up with Flay and that didn't end up very well. Cake isn't home because she's busy working. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that Cake is a fashion designer.

She really loves working and her work is always perfect. Right now she works only part-time but only because she needs to finish some college class so she can open up her own business.

I really don't know what to do right now. I don't have homework. I don't feel like going outside, which is very unusual, and I don't even feel like eating. I just laid there on my couch and stared at the ceiling. If somebody would walk in right now they would probably think I'm dead and to be honest emotionally I am.

I decided to take a nap but opened my eyes again because of someone knocking on the door. I slowly got up and opened it.

"Hey, Fionna," he greeted.

"Gumball? What are you doing here?" I asked surprised but also confused.

"I heard what happened and I just wanted to check on you. I brought you some ice cream," he said.

"Oh, thanks. Uh, come in," he walked in and I lead him to the couch where we both sat down.

"So, are you ok? Why did you two break up?"

"I'm fine. It's just at first I really liked being with him but later I realized that I liked him as a friend nothing more and I guess I shouldn't have rushed into a relationship," I explained.

"I think you two should still be friends. Just because you two are not a couple doesn't mean you can't be friends and hang out with each other," he had a point. I shouldn't just ignore him. We can still be friends.

"Thanks, Gumball. I think I will talk to him," I was in a better mood now, thanks to Gumball. "You wanna watch a movie or something? Or play a video game?" I suggested.

"Sure," he said and we were about to go to the gaming room when I heard a knock on the door.

"You go ahead. I'm gonna look who's at the door," I told him where to go. As soon as he was gone I went to the door and opened it.

"Hey, Fi. You forgot your bunny hat," it was none other than Marshall Lee standing in front of me.

"Thanks. I didn't even realize it wasn't there. Ok, bye," I was going to close the door but he slipped trough and came in.

"You wanna get rid of me, Fi? I thought we were friends. Guess not," he said with a fake hurt voice.

"Look, right now is really not the right time," I tried to convince him to leave but of course he didn't. He's not stupid and he knows when something's up.

"What are you hiding, Fi?"

"Nothing. Just please go!" before I could add anything else I heard Gumball's voice "Fionna? Is everything ok?" he asked.

"Yeah! I'll be right there!"

I turned around to look at Marshall again and I could tell he wasn't pleased.

"What is he doing here?" he asked angrily.

"He came to cheer me up. If you want you can hang with us but please don't do anything stupid," I pleaded. His expression softened.

"Fine. I won't," after he agreed to not mess this up we went to where Gumball was waiting. He was smiling but his smile disappeared when he saw who was standing behind me.

Oh what have I gotten myself into?
