Chapter Four

Things in Kattegat had never been better. The Vikings had been hard at work bettering their homeland and preparing themselves for the coming trip to the land of England to visit Wessex as asked by invitation of King Ecbert. Things between Floki and Ragnar had become strained as of late and in some forms down right hostile, Rollo's trial had come and gone and he was forced to suffer imprisonment until King Ragnar believed him reformed enough to give him another chance which would have been sooner had it not been for the advisement of his first born who suggested he needed more time to his thoughts.

Daga who had been gifted the name Sanngrior by her father for her ruthlessness and calculated savagery in battle had grown ever closer with her family but had not heard anything back from her mother who refused to answer her letters but would answer Bjorn's without hesitation. Daga beat down the sense of hurt that burned her heart a little blacker at her mother ignoring her and tried to keep the hurt hidden from her father who had grown angry and hateful towards his ex wife for his daughter's suffering, Daga's step mother Queen Aslaug was more then happy to step up in her step daughter's time of need and supported her with a mother's loving touch. Daga and Aslaug were extremely close and Daga was not ashamed to admit the duo becoming closer then Daga and her mother the Lady Lagertha had ever been in all of Daga's years.

The young Berserker was fearful but she tried to hide it best she could, she had not heard from her ex and son's father in quite some time nor had his other two children heard from him. Feris and Frar had set out in search of their father going far and wide and all over the place looking for their father but yet they had found no trace of him. Both brothers had stayed for a few weeks in Kattegat to spend time with their beloved younger brother and the young Berserker they adored and respected before returning back to their own lives with promises to return as soon as they possibly could.

Daga was currently packing her and her son's belongings for the long trip ahead of them, she  placed her hand to her stomach as it rolled violently. She had been getting very sick as of the past two weeks. Dizziness, headaches, irritability, extreme mood swings, nausea, muscle cramps, intense fevers that came and went and fatigue that sapped out all of her energy.

She had no idea what was causing such a physical reaction she had tried everything to beat the sickness and as of yet had found no relief. Sitting down slowly as a wave of dizziness hits her she takes a long deep breath and closes her eyes trying to rearrange her thoughts and steady her scrambled mind her moment of peace and quite was short lived as a little body slams into her with a screech of "Mama!"

With a heavy humph she catches her son who was so excited for the trip ahead he could not even attempt to contain himself.

"Mama I got all of my playthings picked out for the trip just as you told me." Ubbe exclaimed in excitement causing his mother to wince physically at his loud volume that Bjorn noticed as he trailed in behind his nephew.

"Com on little one why don't you go pack those toys away for your mama? And let's keep our inside voice on your mama still doesn't look like she feels well." Bjorn wisely advised his nephew who instantly looked guilty causing his mother to lean down and kiss his forehead with a small grin causing his own grin to return as he sets off to do what was asked of him.

"Still sick?" Bjorn ask softly watching as his sister leans forward on her elbows and rest her head in the palms of her hands.

"Yes. Just as bad as it was but it comes and goes in viscous swings." Daga softly explains causing Bjorn to get a weird look on his face before he sheepishly ask "You are not with child are you?"

Daga lifts her head to give her brother a blank look with a blink before she bluntly says "I have not fucked anyone since we arrived in Kattegat so no brother I am not with child."
