3 Weeks Later
Ethan and I walked next to one another slowly. It took everything in me not to cry while we walked away from Amy and Mark. It felt like just yesterday that Ethan and I arrived back at his trailer and I met Kathryn, Amy, Tyler, Mark, and Chica. When in reality, it was months ago.
Ethan glanced at me. "You okay?"
"I don't know. Compared to you, I barley knew them." I didn't have to say who 'them' was, Ethan knew. "I can't even imagine how you feel. Everyone we trusted is gone."
Ethan sighed. "How long we've known them really doesn't make a difference. They were still your friends too, they were all we had."
"I just can't even believe...Mark just-" I took a deep breath, crossing my arms.
"Ended it." Ethan finished my sentence, looking to the ground. "Honestly, at this point. If I lost you, I would do the same."
My eyes widened at his words. "Why? You could survive this, Ethan."
"Not without you." He responded.

Ethan nudged me, causing me to look up from the street we had been walking on for hours. I saw buildings lined up, making a strip mall. Looking further ahead, I saw a few more buildings, the street now joined by signs and lights.
I didn't smile. We've found multiple places that are 'safe', they all ended up the same. Taken, broken, destroyed. This wouldn't be any different.
"We should rest." Ethan told me.
I knew Ethan was right, even if I didn't want to stay here. It was nearly night and it would be a lot better for us to stay in a building than outside like we had been doing for the past few weeks.
"Okay."
Ethan walked forward, me following behind him. We reached the line of buildings, me grabbing the handle to the one door.
Ethan shook his head, stopping me. "We should go around the back."
I let go of the handle and nodded in agreement, the two of us heading around the building. Ethan got to the back door first, attempting to pull it open. When it didn't budge, he kicked it.
My eyes wandered as I waited for the door to be opened. I noticed a familiar car and furrowed my eyebrows in confusion.
"Do you see that?"
Ethan looked to the car, his mouth gaping. He kicked the door again, it swung towards us at the sudden impact. Ethan grabbed my wrist, pulling me into the building with me.
"G? Rosanna?" Ethan called, his voice filled with anger.
We went out into the main part of the store, both of us sliding to a stop. Rosanna was hung by the ceiling, her body lifeless. I stared at Rosanna with wide eyes. Hearing ragged breathing, Ethan and I turned our head's quickly.
Gerald came out from the bathroom hallway, crawling. He gasped for air as he came closer. "He.....lp...."
Suddenly a hand wrapped around his forehead, a knife slitting his throat. Ethan screamed as Gerald's body fell to the ground, blood quickly surrounding it. Sean stepped out of the hallway and over Gerald's body.
He saw Ethan and I standing there and smirked. "Revenge is real fucking sweet."
