Chapter 24

Perrie's POV

"Jade Thirlwall and Perrie Edwards are now official! The couple was spotted kissing in broad daylight yesterday..." the gossip show host said as pictures of Jade and I kissing were displayed on the screen. I turned the TV off in annoyance, I looked pathetic in those pictures.

"Well well, look who's on the front page again." Jesy teased as she entered the studio, newspaper on hand. I rolled my eyes.

"So, how was it?" she demanded, flopping down beside me on the couch.

"Urgh! Seriously?" I groaned.

"Was she good?" she asked, wiggling her eyebrows knowingly.

"Stop it, Jesy!" I slapped her arm by failed as she dodged it.

"What? You looked pleased in these photos." she snickered, nudging me to look at the front page photo.

"I looked pathetic!" I snarled at her.

"No no, you don't. You looked like you're enjoying it." she sneered, I rolled my eyes again.

"Tell me, was she that good?" she asked again, teasingly.

"I hate you!" I growled at her and she laughed.

"I can't believe Jade can act that fast. The management just told us they want more, and now, we have these. Kudos to that woman!" Jesy commented and continued to read the article.

That got me thinking. Did she kissed me because that's what the management want? To get the media's attention again? To be on all of the newspapers' front page? I frown at the thought. That can't be the reason. I know there's something else. I felt it, I saw it in her eyes, there was something in them when me kissed. But I can't stop the annoyance that I'm feeling right now. If she did it just for us to be the latest showbiz headline, then she's no different from my management's big bosses. I hope she's not. Jade also must have felt my discomfort after the kiss, she kept smirking on our way back to the studio yesterday and until she left. She should not know the effect she has in me, she can't! And that got me more annoyed by the whole situation.

I was snapped out of my thoughts when there are sudden knocks on the door. Jesy got up the open it, and Jade entered. What the hell is she doing here? I don't want to see her gorgeous face right now! 

"Hey Jess!" she greeted and hugged Jesy.

"What's up Thirlwall?" Jesy asked, and hugged her back.

"What are you doing here?" I snapped at her, my annoyance now on a higher level.

"What? Am I not allowed to visit my girlfriend?" she said as she turned to me, a smug in her face. Ugh! Cocky Jade is back! Where does all her confidence come from? 

"Girlfriend huh?" Jesy butted in, laughing.

"Well, it's in the news. It must be true." she said with a smirk. Oh the things I would do to wipe that smirk away.

"Ugh!" I growled at them and crossed my arms, slouching on the couch.

"Easy there Miss Grumpy Pants." Paul said as he entered the studio.

He congratulated us and said that the management was pleased by what happened. I kept my head hanging low, finding interest with the carpet on the floor. He then excused himself and Jesy as they need to talk about our schedules and some other stuff. They left the room, leaving me and Jade alone. Suddenly, I felt her sit beside me on the couch, but I don't look her way.

"Hi, Perrie." she said, hesitation laced in the voice. I didn't respond.

"Are you mad at me?" she asked, it seemed like all the confidence she had earlier was gone. I still didn't respond.

"I know I should have asked you first. You have the right to be mad at me, I caught you off guard. I'm sorry." she said in a low voice.

"Why did you do it?" I asked, turning my head to look at her.

"I-I uhm.." she stuttered, instantly avoiding my gaze.

"Tell me why, Jade. Did you do it to get the attention of the media again? Because that's what the management wants?" I asked again, a little more demanding this time. She stayed silent.

"Answer me! Was that the reason?" I snapped at her, which I didn't mean. I was annoyed and her being quiet is just making it worse.

"Yes... and no." she answered, finally looking up at me.

"What's that supposed to mean?" I asked, scowling at her.

"Yes, I did it to get the media's attention again..." she sighed. "But no, that's not the only reason." she continued. I looked at her confused. What is she trying to say?

"I did it because... because I wanted to. I wanted to kiss you, Perrie." she said and averted her eyes from me. She wanted it. Did she enjoyed it too? I tried to say something, but nothing came out of my mouth. I was stunned. After a few seconds, she looked back at me and smiled sadly.

"I shouldn't have done it. I'm sorry. And I definitely understand if you're mad...I should go." she then stood up and started walking to the door. Dammit Perrie! Speak up!

"Wait! Don't go, Jade." I said as I snatched her wrist to stop her and turned her around to face me.

"I should be the one apologizing. I was rude. I'm sorry. It's just that, this whole management thing, it annoys the hell out of me." I muttered. She looked at me worriedly and I continue.

"They already have us to this agreement, and they still wanted more. I just can't believe these people. And I don't want to bother you more." I said looking down.

"Where you're concerned, it will never bother me." she said as she put her fingers under my chin and lifted up my face. Then I saw that genuine smile of hers. I smiled back.

Jesy came back and she informed me that the management had given us one week break from work. She also said that they wanted me to use this time to find inspiration and write some more. After the break, we will be back to continue the album and hopefully to finished it.

"So, what are you gonna do on your break? Any plans?" Jade asked. Yup, she's still here.

"None at the moment." I replied. Hmm. Maybe I'll sleep in the whole week?

"I have an idea!" she said enthusiastically. Jesy and I looked at her confused.

"How about we go on a trip? You, me, Jesy and Leigh!" she cheered and clapped her hands. Damn, she looked so cute when she's excited!

"Where are you thinking we should go?" Jesy asked, laughing at Jade like she's a two year old.

"Hmmm." Jade thought for a moment, her fingers tapping on her chin. Oh, can she look any cuter?

"Aha!" she said abruptly and I imagined a light bulb above her head. We looked at her expentantly.

"Let's go to Japan!" she almost yelled.

"Japan? Why?" I asked.

"Why not? Don't worry, I'll pay for all of the expenses." she grinned. 

"A free trip to Japan? Count me in!" Jesy exclaimed and they do a high-five. What? Jesy!

"Pez?" Jesy asked. They're both looking at me now, waiting for my answer. Well, that's actually not a bad idea.

"Fine." I finally said. And we all cheered. Yay! We're going to Japan!

I looked at Jade and I saw her smirking again. Oh no, don't you dare Jade! If she's planning on doing something again that will have me all weak and bothered, she's not gonna succeed. She think she can wrap me around her finger, she's wrong. Well, guess what Thirlwall...Two can play at this game!
