Well
Four years ago today a band broke up
I don't really know how to put my feelings into words just... The fact that My Chemical Romance has not only retained their original fan base but is still expanding so much even though they're not together is a pretty great indicator of how great and important to people they still are. They basically have done what any good artist does, which is to be truly real and unique with what they create, which is what ends up allowing the art that they make to touch people and hold meaning even when they're broken up.
But to be honest, even though I'm really melancholic and nostalgic today (and totally going on a painful feels trip ;-;) I don't think the 22nd should exclusively be a sad day, because while MCR is gone, the members are still around contributing to the world and living their lives, so it's probably more appropriate to take today to bond with other people and look back on the band's music positively and in celebration. (Also, if you happen to be part of the MCR fandom and can't bring yourself to be happy, honey the feels are nothing compared to the classic rock fandom; consider yourself lucky)
Soooo happy March 22nd! (this is probably the first time I've said that nonsarcastically lol)
