Charlotte's POV:
I was taken aback by Harry's words. I silently thanked him and processed my thoughts until he broke the silence.
"What made you do all, this?" He asked me.
"I just..wanted a change." I told him. "I feel more like myself this way."
"Well, you'll be happy to know that I have never met anyone more beautiful in my entire life." He spoke.
"And you'll be happy to know that I've never met anyone more handsome and somewhat charming in my life." I told him, taking in his looks.
"Somewhat?" He laughed and I shrugged.
We arrived at the small yet appropriate restaurant minutes later. I was about to open my door, when I was interrupted.
"Wait a second." Harry said, unbuckling his seatbelt and getting out. I waited patiently and soon enough, my car door was opened.
I smirked, laughing at his charisma in my head and he smiled the biggest smile I've ever seen. He held out his arm for me to take and I did gladly.
We were seated immediately and neither of us spoke, yet the silence was almost comforting.
"Are you okay?" I asked finally asked, noticing his blank state.
"Yeah I'm just..nervous I guess." He shied.
"You shouldn't be nervous, Harry." I told him, grabbing his hand from across the table. He grinned and I smiled.
Dinner went extremely well. A shy and adorable side of Harry I'd never seen had shone through and the food itself was impeccable. We stood up from our seats, about to leave when Harry froze in his steps.
"Oh my god." He spoke ever so softly. He was glaring at a man in about his mid-fifties. He was slightly overweight and portly with slight hints of grey in his hair.
Harry unintentionally caught the attention of the man.
"Harry." The man spoke, making his way over to us. Harry took a step back, almost as if in fear.
"Harry?" I asked. I looked at him, his gaze still focused on the unknown male. I took his hand and squeezed it to comfort him, but he remained unaffected.
"W-what are you doing here?" He asked the man.
"I haven't seen you in forever." The man said, making an effort to hug Harry but he immediately backed away from him.
"Good." Harry whispered.
"I think we should go." I tried to coax Harry in the other direction but he didn't budge.
"Now look, I know you may still have some, angry feelings about this, but-"
"But nothing!" Harry's voice raised, almost frightening me. "You beat my mother, and you think I wouldn't have angry feelings towards you!?"
"Okay, I thin-" I tried again to calm him down but ultimately failed. Harry had already pushed past me and through the restaurant doors. I ran to the car, hopping in just as he sped off.
His anger was increasing every split second and so was the speed of his Four-Runner.
"Who the hell was that?" I asked almost in shock.
"My birth father." He spoke, not looking at me yet still accelerating at an unruly speed. It was making me extremely nervous.
"Harry." I coaxed him, trying to calm him and persuade him to slow down. He wouldn't budge as his jaw tightened and his breathing got heavier.
"Charlotte, don't. I can't, I can't think straight." He snapped as he ran his hand through his hair.
"Harry, slow down. Let's just go to my house and talk about it when you calm do-"
Harry's POV:
I woke up to the metallic taste of blood entering my mouth, my head resting on the concrete while the rest of my body was cramped inside of my car.
I tried looking up, but could not move my neck.
"We got 'em!" I heard a man's voice yell. Footsteps were heard and red flashing lights were seen when I felt my eyes getting heavier and heavier. I was pried from the car and placed onto a stretcher and into an ambulance, my eyes falling closed as the last sounds I heard being a weak, faint, voice saying,
"Harry?"
And I knew exactly who it was.
