Charlotte's POV:

"Well, this is it." Harry opened up his arms and gestured to the beach.

My jaw dropped. I had never seen anything so beautiful. I turned to Harry.

I wanted to talk to him so badly. I wanted to tell him so much and yet, I couldn't bring myself to do it. I feel like when I don't speak, no one will speak to me, and I won't get hurt again, and I can't get hurt again. Not like last time.

"Charlotte?" His voice broke through my thoughts. "You okay?" He asked.

I smiled and nodded, not speaking. Not like that's unusual. I laughed at myself in my mind.

"Good, then let's go!" He took off towards the water and I followed. Just before he reached the water, he stopped running. I gave him a confused look and he smiled.

Suddenly, I felt his arms wrap around my waist, pulling the both of us into the water.

I could feel Harry kicking his legs next to me, trying to emerge from the water. Once I was breathing air again, I turned to a very amused Harry roaring in laughter. I laughed, pushing him down into the water.

-----------------------

"Well," Harry laughed as we lied down on our towels. "That was fun." I nodded.

"So, pretty good first experience at the beach huh?" He asked. I smiled and pulled my board out of my bag.

"Thanks, Harry." I wrote.

"No problem. I'm glad you had fun." I smiled. Suddenly, I felt something. It felt like my hear dropping into my stomach. Did I..like Harry? I mean, maybe.

But..I can't.

I sat up from my lying down position so suddenly that I felt like I would faint any minute.

"You okay?" I heard Harry ask me.

I picked up my board.

"I don't feel so well." I wrote.

"I can take you home?" He suggested and I nodded.

The car ride was silent, not that it made a difference to me, I'm always silent.

When we pulled up to my house, I sat there for a second just breathing.

"Are you okay? You look like you're gonna puke." Harry asked. I could feel the genuine concern in his voice. I could also feel the uncertainness in the stomach. I nodded and tried forcing a smile.

"Do you want me to walk you in or anything?" He asked. I felt so bad.

I wrote on my board.

"It's okay, Harry. Just some stomach pains. I'll see you at school alright?" I could see the disappointment on his face. I knew he only wanted to help, and I was pushing him away. But I can't risk anything, I can't handle being hurt again.

"Okay..just text me if you need anything okay?" I nodded. Feeling brave, I have him a quick kiss on the cheek before giving a pained smile and trailing to my apartment.

Once inside, I stood at the window, peeking through the blinds as I watched Harry drive off. Before I knew it, I was conversing with myself in my head.

"Do you like him?"

"No, of course you don't. You can't. You've only known him for a few days!"

"But, that doesn't mean anything. You know he likes you, even just a little bit."

"Why would he like you? You're just a hot mess, remember?"

My thoughts were interrupted by the ding of my cell phone.

I strolled over to the couch to pick it up. It was a text from Harry.

H: I hope those pains go away, just text me if you need me and I'll come over.

I replied immediately.

C: Me too.

(A/N: I feel like I say the same thing for each author's note, haha. But seriously, I hope you all liked this chapter, and if you did please vote and tell your friends! -Shelby)
