Charlotte's POV:

My heart shattered into a million pieces as the boy I loved stared at me with confusion in his eyes.

He has no idea who I am.

"Hello?" He said and I snapped out of my trance.

"You really don't know who I am?" I asked faintly, my eyes beginning to brew up new tears. He shook his head, looking almost sorry. I couldn't take this. I stormed out of the room with force and I broke down in the middle of the hallway.

"God damnit!" I yelled as loud as I could, slamming my hand onto the wall. All my strength, every bit of my voice was poured into that huge scream that I needed to get out so badly. A few nurses came to my side, but I ignored them. Eventually my horrid screams turned into profuse sobs as I slumped down onto the floor, my back against the wall and my head resting on my knees. I heard footsteps and when two arms flung around me in a hug, I knew it was Angeline.

"Charlotte..you have to talk to me. What happened?" She asked, sounding concerned.

"He woke up." I cried.

"Oh my God." She exclaimed.

"No, you don't get it. I think lost his memory in the accident, He doesn't know who I am." I practically screamed. I heard her gasp she lied her head on my shoulder as I continued sobbing and I'm sure that if the term "heartbroken" had a sound, my cries would be it.

It's been about two hours since Harry's been awake and I was growing impatient. I sat in his room as he rested. Doctor Stoll executed numerous basic tests and confirmed his memory loss. He says it should return, but it wasn't guaranteed.

I called Kristen to tell her about everything, and she was crushed. She told me she would inform the rest of his teammates, and I silently thanked God that I wasn't the one stuck with that job.

"Hey." Harry's small, raspy voice caught my attention. I looked in his direction.

"My head hurts, really bad." He said, sounding scared as he spoke and my heart ached for him. He doesn't remember how he got hurt, and he doesn't remember anyone. I tried not to cry anymore, at least not in front of him.

"Here." I began, walking over to the tray beside his bed and picking up a small pill bottle. I popped open the kid and let two small, white pills fall into my hands. Placing the bottle back on the tray, I picked up a bottle of water.

I put the pills into his hand and gave him the water. He took them slowly, handing me the bottle of water.

"Thanks," he said quietly and I nodded. It was quiet for a long time. He ran his hands over his face and sounded scared as he spoke again.

"Do you know who I am?" He asked as I casually wiped my eyes.

"You really don't know do you?" I asked, not wanting to believe it. He shook his head, his head resting in his hands.

"You're Harry." I told him, my voice cracking out of sadness.

"A-and, who are you?" He asked and I told him.

"Charlotte." He repeated my name the same way he did when we first met and I melted. "Do you know what happened to me? Because I..hurt."

"Um..you were in a car accident." I spoke.

"I was?" He asked slowly, resting his head on the pillow.

"Yeah. I was with you." I told him and he looked surprised.

"Is that why you're leg is all..like that?" He pointed to my leg and I nodded.

"Sorry." He apologized.

"No, no. It's not you're fault. You were just angry." I said.

"Angry?"

"Oh, um..yeah. That's why you were uh..driving so fast." My voice came out as a whisper. He looked crushed, and so sorry.

"So wait, how do we know each other?" He asked sleepily.

"I'm your um..I'm your girlfriend." I said.

"You're my girlfriend?" He asked and I nodded.

"Well, that's good." He said.

"Why?" I asked him.

"Because I was hoping you would be." His words took my breath away.

A knock on the door interrupted us and we were greeted by Doctor Stoll.

"How're you feeling?" He asked, directing his question towards Harry.

"Good. Oh, and this is Charlotte." He said and I laughed quietly.

"We've already met." I laughed again, explaining. His mouth formed an 'o' shape in realization and he grinned. I think he was a bit loopy from those pain killers. Doctor Stoll's attention turned to me.

"I was just going to tell you that visiting hours are over."

"Oh, okay." I said. I didn't know if I could leave him yet but I knew I couldn't stay another night.

Doctor Stoll gave Harry and I a nod. He left the room as I packed up my things and headed towards the door.

"I'll um..see you tomorrow okay?" I spoke quietly.

"Bye Charlotte." He said. It broke my heart to leave him here while he was so disoriented.

And being the selfish person I was I walked back into his room.
