Alyssa explained it all to her dad and he wasn't mad at her. He believed her and knew the school was wrong for giving her a longer suspension but he figured fighting would be too hard. It didn't take long for the story to get around school and people were posting about if people heard about the fight and how she messed him up big time and even one person got a short video of her punching him. She sat on her bed on her laptop and just kind of stared at Facebook.

She didn't really know what to do now and she was kind of scared to tell Michelle. She didn't want to seem like a fighter or a mean girl or anything. Now what would she do all week?

"Aly?" her father said knocking on her door as he opened it.
"Hm? Yeah dad?" she mumbled looking up at him. Her dad's name was Alex, he was kind of tall with dark hair and dark eyes. Her mother had dirty blonde hair and hazel eyes, shes who she got most of her looks from.
"I thought since you had some free time maybe you want to renew your gym membership, or something," he said softly. They didn't talk a whole lot anymore.
"Yeah, that sounds good," she said softly nodding. She had never came out to him until he asked one day. She had figured it out around the age of 15 but still didn't want to think on it. When she was 18 she realized it completely and started to put up rainbow flags in her room and do a lot of things to drop hints. Most of her hints were stereotypical but they worked and her dad had asked one day. He seemed awkward about it but she had just replied with yes. They never really talked about it and he never seemed mad or anything so she thought it was okay.
"Maybe you'll meet a girl. You know, maybe you got in a fight because you're lonely..

I mean, I dont know you're life or your mind. You dont really talk to me and I know nothing about being.. Well, what Im trying to say is I just want you happy and maybe you just need someone," Alex was now rambling. Alyssa chuckled a bit as she looked at him.

"I know you mean well dad. I didn't fight him because I'm lonely or anything, he was just rude. Sure I would like a girlfriend but that isn't my main goal," she smiled.

He nodded in response before leaving her room. Alyssa did think the gym could be fun again though. She started looking up the closest gym, it was the one she use to go to and she hoped it hadn't changed too much. It wasn't too expensive so she gave her dad the information to sign up and he filled it out. She got back on Facebook and she actually had some messages.

Good job beating up that asshole!
Don't let people stop you from being you!!
Gay doesn't make you bad!! Don't listen to him
He deserved it no matter what.
Can't believe a gay person beat up the hockey star
Mike can't play at the big game Friday now because of you! You ruined everything for the school!
Damn never new a hot girl could be gay this sucks
We should've known look at your hair and clothes.

Some comments were nice but they seemed more of trying to be nice. Alyssa didn't know how school would be next time she went back but some people might be kind at least. It was finally the end of the day for most people at school and she got 2 texts. Michelle and Laura.

She checked Michelle's message first.

'So I read your post yesterday, and I read the posts you've been tagged in. I hope you don't mind me asking but, are you gay then? I mean I have nothing wrong with it but, why didn't you tell me??' Alyssa read it and felt bad. She then quickly started typing back.
'I'm sorry, I was just scared you wouldn't want to be my friend anymore.' She sighed softly

then checked the message from Laura.

'Lol you fucked him up! It's gonna be weird not seeing you for a few days at school but we should hang out!! Like now! Lol it'd be totally fun!! Lol.' Alyssa read it and thought. She didn't have anything else to do really. They texted back and forth for a while before they decided on going to the mall to walk around. Laura was already on her way to pick Alyssa up so Alyssa just told her dad, got around $40 and then headed outside.
"Hey! Are you ready? Get in!" Laura called from the car and Alyssa climbed into the passenger seat.
"Yeah, let's go," Alyssa replied softly as she buckled up in her seat. Soon they were driving and on their way to the mall. Alyssa hadn't been to the mall in a while since it would take almost an hour to walk there but the drive wasn't long at all really.

When they got to the mall Laura squealed in excitement. "We're here!" she giggled a bit and Alyssa smiled. Alyssa had never really been on anything that was considered a date before and she was a bit nervous about asking Laura if it was a date. She climbed out of the car and looked up at the mall.

It was bigger than she remembered though and there were a lot of cars in the parking lot. She hoped there wouldn't be too big of a crowd inside.

"Ready?" Laura asked as she grabbed Alyssa's hand and started leading her to the mall before Alyssa even had a chance to reply. Alyssa looked at their hands that were intertwined together. She smiled a bit and then looked up at Laura. Alyssa hadn't been in public openly with a girl before and she did feel a bit nervous about this. She followed Laura and kept looking at their hands. The first store they went to was Rue 21.

Alyssa wasn't too into most of the clothes here because they were either too revealing for her or had some weird and silly phrase like 'I feel like a taco' which she didn't understand. She walked to the men's section and most of it was tank tops and jeans, again not too much her style but a bit more. When she turned back to Laura she had her arms full with dresses and clothes and undergarments.

"Wow you found a lot of stuff you like," Alyssa chuckled softly.

"Oh shush!" Laura squealed. Alyssa smiled a bit as she watched her get rung up and start to pay. She got a bit closer and the boy ringing her up looked at them.

"Two friends out shopping?" he asked with a chuckle. He had dark hair and bright eyes but other than that, nothing really remarkable about him. "You're pretty tall, most guys aren't into that."

"I don't really care if they aren't, I like girls," she told him to stop him before he tried anything. The boy looked at her then over at Alyssa and smiled.

"Ooh I see," he chuckled again and Alyssa felt her face turning red. She wanted to shrink into an ant so she couldn't be seen.

"Well, we aren't together, yet," Laura smiled at her and Alyssa smiled back shyly. She still wasn't sure her feelings on Laura but might as well try. Right?
