3 years after

---Michelle POV--

I watch as some random snowflakes fall to the ground, gently. It is cold. I hate it when it's cold outside. I shiver and pull my jacket closer around my chest.

Where is she? She said she was going to meet me here...

My Girlfriend Alyssa Bald had called me. Her voice was strange when she asked me to meet her in the park, near the large fountain.

I admit, I am a little anxious, but who wouldn't be. Is the reason why she wants to meet me here because she wants to break up with me? My heart starts beating faster as I go through all the possible reasons for breaking up, and most of them aren't very practical. Or maybe she found someone else... I hope that wasn't the case.

We've been together almost three years together.

I hear snow crunching and whip around, looking for the source of the sound. Nothing. I unconsciously start to shake, not knowing what to expect.

My eyes shift from one side of the fountain to the other. I wait, and hear nothing. Uneasily I shrug it off. It's probably just my imagination playing tricks on me... how many movies have I seen where the main character says that, then gets attacked by an evil monster or something. I watch too many movies.

This time, I know I heard something. I start to circle the fountain, hoping, yet not hoping, to run into someone. Suddenly a large hand touches my shoulder. I jump, with a un-lady-like screech and whirl around.

"What do you think--!" I start to yell, but stop once I see the smiling face of Alyssa.

"You're too easy," she replies taking my hand, "Follow me."

"Where are we going?" I ask as she leads me away from the fountain, in a daze.

"You'll see..." is all she says giving me a mysterious smirk. She's up to something. Curious as to what she's up to, I let her lead me to wherever she had intended.

Suddenly she stops. I almost trip over my own feet trying not to topple over her. She glances back at me and places her index finger over her lips, meaning I had to be quiet.

Amusement is evident in her beautiful eyes.

"Where are you taking me?" I ask again, this time, a little irritation in my voice.

"Patience..." she murmurs, looking around. She spots a bench where the park meets a wooded area. Quickly she leads me there and sits me down.

"Do you remember?" she asks, walking behind the bench.

"Remember what?" I ask, narrowing my eyes.

Happy Anniversary, she replied.

"I thought you had forgotten."

And just to think, yesterday you called me a scatter-brain," she says playfully.

"Well... Happy Anniversary to you, too," I reply.

"No, don't get up!" she says as I start to rise from the bench, "There's one more thing..."

I sit back down, cocking an eyebrow at her.

"You know I'm not very good with words," she begins.

I think I know where this is going.

She looks at me, all thought seemed to rush from her psyche. She closes her eyes trying to find the right words to enlighten me.

"I know we've known each other for... a while now."

Great start.

"But other couples marry after a couple of months... will you marry me?" she asks, her speech seeming to speed up as her question approached.

I agree with her, she never was good with words, despite that fact I am quite impressed.

She held her breath, took a ring box out of her trouser pocket and opened it.

I barely glanced at the ring before throwing my arms around her and joyously shout my acceptation to her proposal.

Standing up she takes hold of my hand and slips the beautiful ring onto my finger.

Hand in Hand we walk away from the bench, exiting the park.
