Chapter 16: Flashed Back memories

The doctor is trying their best to save Michelle life's..

Don't worry, she's strong, she will survived honey," Mia patted her shoulder. Alyssa nodded a bit and sighed to herself.

"Im gonna call Kamryn," she said softly before taking her phone out of her pocket. Mia nodded and left the small lounge leaving Alyssa alone to call.

"Hey sweetie! Are you okay? I'm at work, but why are you calling?" Kamryn asked when she answered the phone.

"Hey Kam, uh well. Michelle's heart stopped for a moment. I was pushed out of the room and they are trying to revive her but I don't know how things are going," she told her. Alyssa wasn't sure how she would response but she did feel bad and worried.

"Oh god. I. I don't know what to say Alyssa. Im gonna call Blake then try to get off work," she said quietly before the phone was hung up.

Alyssa could hear the fear and sadness in her quiet voice. She sighed to herself as she put the phone back in her pocket.

There were so many thoughts going through her mind right now, she sat in one of the chairs and felt the tears start to slip out of her eyes.

She wiped her eyes and let out a shaky sigh as she stared at her phone. She hadn't felt this scared or upset since her mother. She was in an accident too, but she passed quickly.

Alyssa barely remembered it, but she knew that she had the same feeling of fear when she saw her mother in the bed, same fear when she heard the beeping then. She pushed herself from the chair and started pacing.

"Mom," she whispered. "I don't know what to do." She didn't have a big belief in any religious faith but she did feel her mother could hear her. Maybe she could guide her or help her in some way.

"Alyssa? Do you need anything?" Mia asked as she stepped in the door way. "Maybe if you just, talk. Let your thoughts out, it might clear your head," she said coming in and looking at her.

"I haven't been in a hospital since I was 8. I haven't heard.. A flat line beep since then," she said softly. She had ignored her feelings towards her mom so long that they were coming out now.

"Tell me about it," Mia said helping her to sit back in a chair. "Everything you remember."

"I.. I remember being at school, and police officers coming in. They told me that my mom needed me, so they took me to the hospital. It took those 10 minutes to finally find a way to get my dad, then even longer for him to answer.

As they tried to contact him, I just watched my mom lay in the bed. She was awake, and she told me she was sorry. She apologized for not being a good mom, and for driving my dad away.

When my dad showed up, he was scared. He hugged me and he was crying, but I didn't understand what was going on.

Soon I heard that beeping and it made my dad cry more. I, I never cried Mia," her voice got shaky at the end. Mia sat a hand on Alyssa's knee and tried to comfort her. Alyssa finally realized what had been on her mind for years without her knowing.
