The last day of school was pretty normal. Most classes had parties or relaxing, a lot of students didn't even show up. Students were signing yearbooks left and right, seniors cried while hugging friends. Alyssa spent most of the day reading or drawing. She would do whatever she could to clear her mind. She tried to study everything Laura said when they were in class together and in the hall way together.

She seemed the same as before she learned about Michelle.

"So I will take you home, then I'll go home and get ready too. I will be picking you up at 4:30. Okay?" Laura told her. Alyssa nodded a bit as she listened to her tone. Most of what she said sounded calm and excited at the same time, but when she said okay, it sounded demanding. Alyssa chewed on her lip gently as she looked around a bit. "Well, last hour. I will be waiting right here. Okay?" she told her. Alyssa only nodded once again. Laura had a bright smile plastered on her lips. They kissed and Alyssa walked off. Things were getting a little weird.

"Good Afternoon Ms. Baldo, how is your last day going?" Mrs. Bechtel asked as she entered her last hour of the day, English.

"It's going fine," she smiled a bit. She wasn't super excited about class but oh well. She sat in her seat reading as everyone hollered and talked and laughed and cried. She tried to tune it all out until she felt her phone buzz. Who would be texting? Probably Laura.

She waited a bit not wanting to open it then it buzzed again, so she opened it curiously.

'Hey Alyssa!!! Long-time no talk???? What have you been doing? You liked my post lol!' was the first message from Michelle. Alyssa felt her heart skip a beat as she read it. She moved on to the next message.

'OMG You probably are at school! LA and I skip lol don't tell!!!! His friends were having a party and oh my gosssssshhhhh it was soooo fun and I think LA gave me too many drinks lol. Oh well it was still fun!' Alyssa felt her stomach turn a bit. Michelle was drunk. She was drunk texting her. Alyssa didn't like alcohol. She watched her mom fight her addiction to alcohol before passing. Alcohol didn't kill her but it did make her last few years rougher. Alyssa sighed softly, she didn't want to text her back, she didn't want to think of her drunk, but she needed an answer.

'Are you and him still going out??' was all Alyssa sent.

'Of course lol! We are still at the party though I was just missing you. I hope things are going great for you! We plan on leaving the party and going straight to dinner a little later.' Alyssa read this and felt like she would throw up. As far as she could tell, they were planning on driving while drunk.

'You shouldn't let him drive if he is drunk,' she replied.

'Oh Ly you're so funny. He is a great driver no matter what.' Alyssa locked her phone and put it in her pocket. She couldn't continue this conversation, she just hoped things would be okay. She picked up her book and continued reading trying to clear her mind. It didn't take long for the bell to ring and people to flood out screaming about summer. Alyssa was the last to leave and she soon found Laura.
