Life is Never Fair

The Village

I made my way to the village to clear my mind. I walk towards Lacy's house because I had to tell her what was going on. Yes Lacy is a villager but she is my best friend and I don't know what I would do without her. I knock on the door and her mom opens it. "Princess Emma what an honor," she says and bows.

"Mrs. French you know you don't have to bow." She nods and smiles. "Is Lacy home?" She nods and calls out for Lacy. Lacy comes running towards me. "Hey girl," she says and hugs me. "Hey are you busy?" "No, why?" I sigh. "I need my best friend right now" I say as I look down. "Let's walk to the docks and we can talk," she says. I smile.

"Don't worry I will bring her back later." I say to her mom and she laughs. "Have fun girls." I smile and hug her. "Thanks Mrs. French." She nods. We run out the door and head over to the docks. "What's wrong Emma?" I sigh. "I think my parents want me to marry someone." She smiles. "Isn't that great, you've always wanted to find your love and get married."

"That's the thing, I think they want me to marry Robin." She gasps. "Robin?" She asks with a confused look on her face. I nod. "Why do you think that?" "Well his mom was talking to me earlier today and she was telling me how she wants me to find a perfect man, and that's when Neal passed by and she got mad because we stared at each other and then she implied that she wanted me to be with her son."

"Whoa.." I sigh and nod. "Yea and now we have a dinner together and she said that both her family and ours want to share some news with me and I assume with Robin as well." She shakes her head. I nod. "How about we go to our secret spot?" I smile and nod. "Yes, I would love that." She smiles.

We started to walk towards our spot and that's when a little girl runs past us. Lacy and I stare at each other, baffled as can be. "Who was that?" I ask and she shrugs. That's when a man crashes into me and we both fall. Lacy screams. "Emma are you ok?" She asks. I sit up and my head is spinning.

"Ow," I softly say running my temple. I scoff. "What the heck, watch where you're going." I say still looking down. "No, you watch where you're going, you klutz," he says then we both gasp as we look at each other. I was in awe, he is so handsome and his eyes are blue as can be. My he was dreamy.

Lacy coughed. We sort of snapped out of that zone we were in and this man got up as I was still sitting on the ground. "I am so sorry milady for my clumsiness and rudeness, Prince Killian, " he says as he extends his hand towards me so I can get up from off the ground.

I smile, "it's ok and Princess Emma." I start to brush off all the dirt and hay from my dress and he sighs. "I am so sorry for getting your dress all dirty." "It's ok don't worry." I say and he smiles. "Oh you have a little something on your face," he says as he extends his hand to my face to wipe off the dirt from my cheek. I blush, "thanks." He nods.

"Oh and um this is my best friend Lacy," I say. He extends his hand towards Lacy and shakes it. "Pleasure to meet you Lacy." Lacy gives me this hmm-he's-good-looking-sort-of-look and I giggle. "So why were you running so fast?" I ask. He laughs. "I'm sorry I was just chasing my little sister; we were playing tag."

I smile, "oh you have a little sister?" "Aye." I smile and nod. "Speaking of her there she is," he says pointing at someone behind me. Thats when a girl comes running towards us and hugs him. "Leilani say Hi to princess Emma," he says to his little sister. She smiles and bows, "hi princess Emma." I bow, "nice to meet you princess Leilani." She smiles.

"She's nice," Leilani says. He smiles and nods. "And this is Lacy," he says. She smiles and nods. "Hi Lacy." Lacy bows. "So you're the princess of this kingdom?" He asks. I nod. "So your father is King David and mother Queen Snow?" I nod, "that's right." "Welcome to the kingdom of Misthaven." He smiles.

"Thanks," Leilani said. "So why do you honor our kingdom with you and your sister's presence?" I ask. Killian smiles, "we came to explore; I love taking this little one on my voyages." I lift my eyebrow. "Oh you sail?" He nods. "Aye, I love the sea and so does this little one," he says and Leilani smiles.

Lacy is just smiling from ear to ear. "Oh the sun is starting to set; I must make my way back to the castle." Killian turns to see the sun and gasps. "Aye it is, I hadn't noticed." I blush and nod. "Well ladies we will gladly walk the both of you back to the castle." I smile. "Thanks but I wouldn't want to take up more of your precious adventure time." He laughs and blushes.

"Oh but my time was well spent here with you," he says and I blush. He grabs my hand and kisses it. "Well until next time Emma," he says and winks. He then bows towards Lacy. "Ladies, may you enjoy your evening." Leilani comes and hugs Lacy and I. She then goes and grabs a hold of Killian's hand. He turns around and smiles back at us.

Lacy and I make it back to her house and we go to her room. I lay on her bed and scream. "Wow he is a good looking man Emma." "I know right?" I say with a big smile on my face. "His eyes though, but that's probably the first and last time that I will see him." "Why do you think that?" She asks as she looked out the window. "It's just I don't know Lacy..." I say and then she goes and lies next to me on the bed. She looks at me and raises her eyebrows. I smacked her arm and laughed.

We continued to laugh and that's when we hear a knock on the door. "Yes?" Lacy asks and the door opens. It's her mom. "Your majesty I'm sorry for interrupting you girls but there are two knights waiting for you outside ready to take you home." I scoff. "How is it that they always know where I'm at." Lacy sighs. "Thanks Mrs. French." She nods. I get up and Lacy hugs me. "Don't worry Girl everything will be fine." I smile and nod. "See you tomorrow, well if they let me." She nods and I walk out to my carriage.
