To refuse Seth's offers and demands, as well as the promise of her own safety? It sounded crazy, impossible even. Without this man and his games, she was a goner for sure!
Yet Raven felt compelled to accept such a fate, rather than give into defeat. Her moral was too worn down to resist hopelessness any longer. She was out of confidence, and strength, and hope. So why not try to spare herself and her dignity a bit before death?

"Hello my dear, are you feeling a bit better today?" Seth asked in a taunting voice.
Raven scowled and stood up from the floor to face him. He looked to be in a good mood for teasing her, but he would not be for long.
"I was, until now." She hissed.
He chuckled, cocking his head curiously.
"Why are you all the way back in the cage, dearest? I left you out for a reason."
"I have no intention of making your assault of me easier!" Raven snapped angrily.
Her captor burst out into a light and gentle laughter.
"Why, I have no such plans at all my sweet! Making you come to me is much more fun anyhow." He teased.
She puffed out her chest and crossed her arms with defiance, fully ready to challenge him.
"Look here you scoundrel, I have had enough of your games! Go ahead, tell the captain of my identity, I do not care anymore. Never again shall I fall prey to your blackmail." She stated proudly.
Seth's normally very smug grin, suddenly turned angry, much to her delight.
"You cannot say that my dear, my captain might just kill you." He replied.
Raven stuck out her nose to him.
"What difference does it make? I could be killed now with my dignity still intact, or later after you have had your fun. There is no rescue or ransom coming for me, so why delay the inevitable?"
The young pirate scowled with a mixture of disappointment and rage as he stomped over to her cell.
"Now listen here missy, these men are no gentleman. You think I am bad? They will be worse. Why not just indulge me a little? I will keep your secret safe as long as you cooperate."
Raven just rolled her eyes.
"And why should I believe you Seth? Even as a child you were heartless and underhanded. How can I entrust anything to the likes of you?"
He gave her a small smile and leaned in closer to the cell bars.
"You act as if I am more wicked than other men. There are so called noblemen and such in the Navy, yet they can act corrupt too. Even our countries soldiers have committed their fare share of atrocities. But I am not out to kill or defame, only to pursue what can be used in my advantage. Nothing more or less." He replied softly.
Raven glared at him with a growing hatred. She hated to hear him trying to defend his own vile actions.
"Oh really? Is that how you see it? Kidnapping me and threatening my life with every word you speak as something harmless or justifiable? Well you are wrong, so I am done with you!" She shouted, losing a few frustrated tears near the end.
Seth's eyes lit up with astonishment at her sudden look of distress, and Raven nearly thought she might have sensed regret in his expression. However, he quickly recovered from it and returned to his usual self.
"Very well, then I will leave you be. Perhaps you will change your mind though, once you realize that I am all you have."
Then he turned and promptly left, giving Raven plenty of time to cry alone.
