Waiting in expectation was by far one of the hardest things a person could endure in life. Waiting for an answer, for a gift, or for a set engagement. Yet for Raven, she found herself sitting all alone and waiting for her fate.
Would Seth uncover her identity? Would he spare her? Would he come back with a new ultimatum?
So many questions, so many fears, yet so little time and energy to endure it. For Raven, she was merely at a loss of what to do, or whether or not she should even care anymore. Perhapse it was simply best to give up after all...

Two whole days passed by quietly for Raven. She neither saw nor heard a single thing from Seth. When she awoke in the morning there was food waiting at her cell door, indicating it had been placed there during her slumber. Just what was that man's game this time? Was he hoping to push her sanity to the edge before coming in to try breaking her resolve again? Did he still plan on exposing her? Raven was sure she could endure such a fate, but the waiting without knowing was far more unbearable!
Or perhaps, as crazy as it sounded, had she hurt the pirate's feelings with her words? He had seemed angry for sure, yet had done nothing in retaliation. Unless this silence was her punishment. In that case he was crueler than she gave him credit for!
Goodness, just what was she to do? Dare she hope for rescue, or should she give into the numbness of hopelessness? If Seth came back in to see her, what would she say to him after this cold treatment? Well, Raven was not one to consider herself overly proud or arrogant beyond a reasonable amount, but she vowed never to admit her true feelings on his absence. Even if he came back and offered back his company in exchange for a simple apology, her conscience could never allow her to. Even if she truly found herself missing the presence and the taunting of a certain crude man on this boat, he was still an honorless pirate whom had kidnapped and tormented her, and therefore deserved no such consideration. No matter how terrible this silence was, begging for his mercy was still far worse. She would rather die than seek his forgiveness!
However, as the night dragged on with Raven still having no visitors, she distinctly hear the loud roars of thunder coming from outside the ship. They slowly got closer over the next hour, indicating that a storm was on its way.
