I KNOW I KNOW, OH MY GOSH SHE ACTUALLY UPDATED.

SHOUTOUT TO manuevaha365 FOR CREATING THIS CHARACTER!!!

I expected something way different from my best friend. Sure, she's told me countless times that she has a boyfriend and that I should stop shipping her with so many people, but I had to see if he was good enough for her. So, I asked if I could meet this boyfriend of hers, despite my anti-social self.

It started off normal enough. Me, walking in the halls, waiting for Reyna, who was often late. She made it right before the bell and as she passes me, running to her class. She nodded at me and kept running. I looked at her confused on her running as I ran to catch up. I felt people's eyes on me as attention was drawn towards me.

I guess I should explain my life a little before I go on. I was born from a colored family. And was unlucky enough to be put into a pretty racist school. But, I had inherited my mother's sass and got through the years just fine, with a little help from Reyna. Everyone expects the new kid to be shy and everything, but she fit in just fine with a strong vibe of leadership and strength. Reyna was beautiful, no one can deny that. She was Puerto Rican, tan skin with dark eyes which often bore into you, reading you from nothing but your exterior. Basically, she was the power woman of the school. We bonded over the hatred of the whole school concept and stupidity of guys.

Class, as usual, was horrifying and boring, but I watched as the last few seconds ticked by, followed by a loud ring of the bell. I jumped as soon as it rang, wanting to get out quicker, but my butt of a teacher, told me to sit down and released the rest of the class, saying I had to wait til everyone was out. Walking out of the classroom, my mind drifted to places. I was so deep in thought that I didn't realize Reyna had walked up to me, and started to talk to me.

"Wait what?" I asked.

She laughed and said that I'll see. I hated when people did that. This time as we walked through the bustling halls, I kept my thoughts down and listened to the words Reyna was saying.

"Mrs. Hugo assigned so much homework today. Plus we have finals tomorrow. School is a literal prison."

"I know right? They have us come at a certain time, stay for 7-9 hours (I don't really know but my school is 8 hours and two years ago my school was 7? I don't even know anymore.) Can't use our phones unless for "research purposes." Like honestly, what the heck?" I replied. (Also small side note, are your school dances good? My school dances suck and everyone just go there to show how much money they have pretty much)

"Life was so much easier before I went to school." Reyna told me. "Well... kinda."

"I liked elementary school the best," I replied, "everything was so easy with like 2 tests a year."

"Never been, I was homeschooled." Reyna said nonchalantly.

"Really?! I'm always learning new things about you. Like I didn't know that you loved jelly beans, or that you hated apples until yesterday."

"Well, there's a lot to me that I'd rather not say."

The conversation died down and we walked in a comfortable silence on our way to the cafeteria. I respected her not telling me. I myself had a lot to hide and I hate when people pried. We sat down at our usual bench. We were both pretty anti social so we sat alone every time.

Reyna and I just sat together with a comfortable silence. Until well... I have extremely slow reaction time, so I just watched in shock as this dude, sneaked up behind Reyna. He was about to scare her when she just swallowed the bite she just took and calmly said, "Gods Nico, if you could be even more noticeable."

His mouth twitched into a smile. "I can never do it."

That was when I was completely out of shock. "Umm Reyna? Who the heck is this 'Nico'?"

"He's my boyfriend from outside of school."

"And you never told me?! I feel hurt that my best friend wouldn't tell me that she had a boyfriend."

"Oh please, I've told you plenty of times, including this morning. You just never care to pay attention."

"Not true! I just... think a lot... yeah." I protested. Badly.

"Tomato, tomato. (I hope you guys get what I mean because there's no other way to express it lol)"

I rolled my eyes as I turned to Nico. "How do you deal with this?"

"I don't. Fear drives this relationship." He shrugged. "But you know, not like a forced we still both love each other... I hope."

Reyna laughed. "Whatever you dork."

I actually never see Reyna this easy going before so I kinda figured he would be good for her.

"So as your best friend from school, I personally approve of him." I declared.

Reyna laughed again. "Like I'll listen to you."

I acted like I was hurt. "*gasp* you're such a bad friend."

We laughed as Nico stood in the edge of the conversation just listening in, kinda confused about girl logic.

"Ok then... Reyna, I have to go I kinda snuck in so before they notice, I'm gonna sha- climb the fence... yeah. I'll see you after school." He said as he kissed her cheek.

"See ya." Reyna hugged him.

Externally, I was grinning like an idiot. Internally, I was the same, but maybe a little jealous that I could feel the trust and commitment from them. They've been through a lot together, I realized. The way Reyna smiled, wasn't just from happiness. I could see a small pain as she watched him leave, a longing as he left, a fear that something would happen.

She shook her head.

"So that was Nico."

"You really do love him don't you?" I asked.

"Yeah, he's different than the rest of the guys. He looks like he's tough, but actually, he's a softie. His favorite movie is the titanic believe it or not."

I smiled.
