Mortals Meet Demigods/ One shots

Tying my blond hair into a ponytail, I ran across the park. I was just walking through the park to enjoy some fresh air, when Brent spotted me. You see, I'm considered "hot" at school, despite me being the biggest nerd there. Brent's been trying to ask me out ever since I stepped foot in that school. He started running towards me and I was pretty sure he wasn't just going to ask me out. I was fast, but not as fast as Brent, him being the quarterback of the football team. I saw people getting into a bus not very far away. I ran in quickly just as the doors closed. I spotted a seat next to a girl with spiky black hair. Like a pixie cut. (Maybe she has a pixie cut?) I sat down and avoided her eyes as they seemed to observe everything everyone did. But, of course, she looked me straight in my grey eyes with her electric blue eyes. I froze. She seemed kind of like a rebel with a leather jacket and ripped jeans. But, then she smiled, making her appearance seem a little less threatening.

"Hey, I'm Thalia."

"Hi, I'm Katelyn."

"Haha don't be so uncomfortable. I'm not as punk as I seem."

"Ahahah ok. Just, guy trouble."

Thalia's eyes darkened. "Like, in which way? Someone doesn't like you back way or they keep annoying you?"

"Oh, please. There would never be one day that I liked a guy. This guy, Brent keeps annoying me."

"Aw, i feel bad for you. Although, I have and offer you might li-"

The bus jerked forward, cutting her off. At first, I thought he almost ran a red light, but when I looked towards the road,there was a 12-headed dragon in the middle of the road. Everything was in chaos. I looked over at Thalia but she was gone, in the aisle with a bow drawn. I never noticed before, but she had a sort of tiara on her forehead. I screamed as I watched the Hydra attack the bus. Thalia drew her bow and fired, hitting one of the heads in the eye. Then, the head exploded and I realized her arrows were different, breaking through the glass with a perfect clean hole and directly to the target and exploding. I thought it would just stay that way and die, but it slowly grew two heads in the place of the one she destroyed.

"Dang it, now I have to find the immortal head. She kept shooting and I knew from looking, she was counting a Kk the ones she knew weren't immortal. Then, the dragon blew fire and everyone dove out of the bus as it exploded into pieces. Thalia rolled across the ground and shot the hydra one last time, and it collapsed, disappearing into golden dust. Thalia looked at me.

"Come with me, I was supposed to meet up with someone but I think it's best you come with me."

She lead me to a small café where a guy maybe in his 20's was sitting. He jumped up and hugged Thalia.

"Gosh! Thalia, it's been so long since I've seen you!" He exclaimed.

"Haha missed you too goat boy. Hey, can you check something?" She asked out loud then whispered to him.

"I can sense it, and she smells like it, so..."

I was confused. I smell like what?

"You better come with me." The guy said, "by the way, I'm Grover."

"Nice to meet you, I'm Katelyn."

I knew I was crazy, going into a taxi with some people I've known for less than a day, but something told me it was the right thing to do. They also told me to call my parents to tell them that I was being transported to camp. I called home and my dad seemed to understand.

"Be careful sweetie. But trust the people you're with." He told me.

Thalia and Grover had told the taxi driver where they wanted to go and they told me they'll explain the details when we got off.

An hour later, we stopped and we got out. The taxi driver didn't seem to care about the rural area, but only about the money. Grover paid him and he drove off. Then, they told me to follow them, walking up the hill. When we got to the top, I saw a huge camp, beautifully complimented by the forest. Running in, Grover went up to rather pretty girl. Although, her skin was slightly tinted green.

"That's Juniper, his girlfriend." Thalia explained.

"Ohhh, ok. They're so cute."

Thalia led me to the big house where a man in a wheelchair was. She introduced me to him then brought me to all her friends. We all became good friends in a matter of hours.

At the campfire, where Thalia told me I would get claimed, we were singing songs, dancing, and laughing. Though, during the middle, everyone near me stopped and stared at me. I looked back, confused. Then, I looked up. I flinched in surprise as I saw a blowing grey owl above my head. Chiron bowed, along with everyone else.

"All hail Katelyn, daughter of Athena, goddess of wisdom and warfare."

After the whole claiming thing, Thalia brought me to the side.

"Hey, I know you hate guys right?"

"Yeah, why?"

"I'm not really part of the camp too much. I was on the bus, on my way to meet up with the hunters."

"Oh sorry for interrupting your trip."

"Haha no it's fine. I was just wondering if you wouldn't like to join. Here's a pamphlet."

She handed me a three fold pamphlet about the Hunters of Artemis. Reading through it, I loved the idea.

"This is like a dream come true. Off limits to boys, and I get to hunt animals along side a goddess? Of course I would like to join!"

"You forgot the immortality." She said, winking.

"Hahaha ya that too."

"Ok, I'll call the hunters to camp. They should be here tomorrow and Artemis will explain to you in more detail."

"Ok thanks!!!"

"Ok we should go to our cabins. It's almost curfew and the harpies won't be merciful for hunters either."

We called it a night and I went to my new cabin with new cabinmates, smiling. One day, I would return, and I hope that day was soon. It was such a great camp. I fell asleep, thinking about camp and the adventures I would have later on.

I'm going on a trip in two days, so most likely I'm going to update in the car. But maybe not, because of carsickness. Thanks for reading!!!!
