Chapter 25

Elijah looks surprised. Then I see Damon. "Go!" me and Elena run.

We get to the front door to see Elijah. Damon appears and stakes him in the heart. Killing him. I sigh in relief and we leave.

I look at Damon who was gripping the steering wheel tightly. Stefan was next to him. I could feel Elena's stare. I look at her.

"So you were just planning on letting a vampire turn you?"

I sigh. "Elena-"

"Why?"

"Because it kept all of you safe! If you were me what would you do?" Elena sighs.

"We can't let him turn you."

I sigh.

"He's either gonna turn me or I'm gonna become a werewolf. Neither sounds great Elena."

She sighs and we stops in front of her house. "Who knows so far?"

"All of you."

"Bonnie doesn't know?"

"How was I gonna explain to my sister that I'll become the one thing she hates the most?" I ask. Elena sighs.

"I'll talk to you later." she gets out and Stefan says something to Damon. He gets out and Damon drives away.

"So how long do you have?" I look at Damon as he asks this.

"I don't know." it barely came out. I was looking down. I sigh. Damon stops the car. I look around.

"What are you doing?" I mumble.

"We can't let him turn you."

"What are we gonna do?"

"We'll just keep him awa-" I grab his hand.

"Damon. I've accepted it. My time as human is over. You need to do the same."

Damon sighs.

"You don't deserve this."

"No one does. But this is life. I'm just happy I had such a good one." Damon looks down and starts the car again. He drives me home and I sigh.

I sit in Damon and Stefan's living room while Rose was trying to convince them how dangerous Klaus was.

"You've met him right?" she asks me. I nod.

"And?"

"He's going to kill me the moment he finds out my best friend is here. Yes I'm scared to death of him."

Rose looks at them. "If you're not gonna listen to me listen to her."

I sigh.

"You should be home!" I turn around to see Lana. I roll my eyes.

"That's my cue to leave." I mumble while leaving. Later I sit in my room and I hear someone walk in. I look up to see Elijah. I jump back.

"How?"

"I'm an original. I can't die easily." I look at him. "Caitlin...I'm not going to hurt you..."

"Then why are you here?"

"Just like Lana I want two things."

"Two? All Lana wants is to keep me safe."

"And for Niklaus to die." I stand up my eyes widen.

"Would you like to help?"

"How?"

Elijah sighs. "In order to help you will have to let him turn you when the time comes. That's all you can do. Leave the rest to me and Lana."

I nod. "I'll do it. But why is it so important."

"Klaus Will think he had everything he wants. I know he is planning to turn you before the ritual. When he's weak I'll kill him. Taking everything from him. Like he did to me." he offers his hand. "Deal?" I shake it.

"Deal." Elijah smiles.

"You can't tell anyone about this." I nod.

"I won't."

"I'm truly sorry you have to die. I do not want this for you." I nod and he leaves.
