Chapter 38

I sit in my room. I had been avoiding Bonnie. I get a phone call from Caroline.

"Hmm?"

"You need to come to Abby's place now!"

"On my way." I hang up and I head over instantly. Once I get there I see Caroline and Bonnie.

"Why is she here?" Bonnie asks looking down. I look at Caroline and I shake my head. I turn to walk away but Caroline grabs it and twists it which makes it break. I close eyes at that and a small whimper comes out. Caroline let's go instantly.

"Oh my god! Caitlin I'm so sorry I forgot."

"Its fine. Don't worry about it." I move it back into place and I sigh. I look at her.

"Caroline I know what you're doing. It won't work. I'm sorry." I sigh and I walk off.

I walk into Elena's to see Damon and Elena arguing.

"You're the last person to teach him about self control." she spats.

Damon sighs and sees me. Elena looks over and her eyes widen. "Caitlin... How are you doing?"

"I'm fine. So what are you guys arguing about?"

"She's mad I tried to teach Stefan self control with human blood." Damon answers. Elena shakes her head and walks off. I hear my phone ring and I see that it's Caroline. I answer slowly.

"Okay this time I actually need help with Abby."

"Okay I'm in my way." I leave.

When I get to Abby's I walk inside to see Bonnie with Jamie who's neck is bleeding. I feel my face change and I look away. "Caitlin." my face changes back and I look at Caroline. She gestures for me to follow and I do. I spot Abby who looks horrified.

"Stay away."

"I'm not gonna hurt you." I look at Caroline. "Why did you call me?"

"No one else would answer."

"Makes sense." I sigh. "What do you need?" Caroline looks at Abby.

"I know that Caitlin scared you but she did what she did to save her friend. She's been through the same thing you have."

"Had she ever bit into someone she cared about?" I nod.

"I killed my friends parents." Abby looks at me.

"What happened to you?" she asks.

"I met my real family." I mumble. I sigh and I look at Caroline.

"I really don't know what you expect me to do."

"Tell her what you've done and why. Show her that it's just her nature." I sigh.

"When I was first turned I was compelled to go home and I killed a girl completing my transition. I killed my friends parents because I was hungry and I didn't know till they died. I killed my sister's mom."

"How do you live with yourself?" Abby asks.

"You can't do what I do." I mumble. Abby looks confused. I sigh.

"I make every bone in my body break once every month. That way I get the punishment no one will give me." Caroline looks at me shocked. I sigh and I turn around to see Bonnie. I sigh and I walk outside
