Chapter 43

When Klaus arrives I look at him and before I can say a word he puts a hand up. "Now before you start yelling at me love you're free to go." I look confused and I see Damon. He sighs when he sees me.

"What are you doing?" I ask. Klaus sighs. "Tell. Me."

"We're killing Connor." Damon confesses. I look at Damon and then Klaus.

"You should leave love."

"What's going on?" I see Haley.

"Vampire hunter drama." I look back at Klaus. "This is a suicide mission." Klaus sighs.

"Leave or I'll go to extreme measures."

"That's not necessary." Damon says. I look at Klaus.

"I warned you." He looks me in the eyes. "Go to the woods and turn." I walk past them to the woods.

The next day we had left to go to Whitmore College because there was a Halloween party there. I was slightly drunk and I felt someone grab my hand and drag me away I turn to see Damon. He takes me to Elena. "What's going on?" I ask confused.

"Elena's worried about feeding. You need to show her how it's done." I give him a confused look but I nod. Damon brings a girl over. "Show her. But don't kill her." I nod and I sink my teeth into the girl's neck. I pull away and Elena's face changes. She bites into the girls neck and Damon pulls her away. "That's enough." he mumble. He looks at me and nods. I look at the girl.

"You'll forget you met us. You met this guy and he went a little crazy on your neck." She repeats and leaves. I smile and I walk away.

The next day we find out that Connor was holding Jeremy, Matt, and April hostage. Stefan and Damon had gotten in by using the sewer system. Connor has fled and I had chased after him. I ended up in front of him. I snapped his neck quickly watching his dead body fall to the ground.

That night I sit in my bed drinking some blood. I throw the blood bag away. When I turn around I see Connor.

"How are you alive?"

"I'm not. You killed me." I look at him feeling guilty. "You're a killer. And you deserve to die."

"No."

"Yeah...you do..." I run away to be confronted by Klaus. I hear a snap and everything goes black.

I wake up on a small bed. I see Klaus.
"Why am I here?"

"When you killed Connor the hallucinations started correct?" I nod. "Being a hunter he's going to haunt you till you kill yourself."

"How did you stop yours?"

"They just stopped." He leaves and I sigh. Well shit.

Later I hear the door open. I spot Haley. "Run." I run off obeying. Soon I get into the woods and I hear a voice. I turn around to see everyone I have ever killed. "You killed us. Why do you deserve to live?" I knew they were right. I dug my hand into my chest. I gripped my heart. And I sighed.

"Don't!" I look up to see Damon.

"I deserve this..."

Damon shakes his head and I see Alaric nodding.

"I do..." Damon runs to me.

"No..." that's when it's gone. The hallucinations. The feeling of wanting to die. I remove my bloody hand from my chest. Damon sighed in relief and hugged me. I hugged back.

"I'm sorry..." I mumble. Damon just hugs me tighter not saying a thing.
