Zombies in my life

Scavenger

After the zom hoard I was on the free way, it was 7.24. We had planned to go to a supermarket as I knew the canned food section had enough food to last one person 55 years, there were nine of us that food would last us at least six years and if we could scavenge from other places and get more food it would last longer. We headed for a supermarket which was out of the way.
I told everyone to get their weapons ready and as I pulled up to the supermarket I asked Will and Bonnie to guard the bus but to hide in case someone walked on, I told them to kill whoever it was and that a knife to the back of the head would do. The rest of us got off and taking the keys with me, we all went into the shop got three trolleys and went to the canned section, there wasn't much left and we could see that everyone left in a hurry.
We took all the cans we could find including the dog and cat food, we went to the back and on the way we saw that there were hundreds of batteries and decided to take them all. Going out back we saw there were more cans then we could count, there were shelves of them going higher then I could reach. We filled up the last trolley to the top and brought them all back out, I knew there was a storage under the bus and got everyone to start loading all the food on the bus with all the food we got out it didn't fill the storage which I was happy about there was minimal room left but it wasn't full. We went back and Bonnie came with us leaving Marco and Will to guard the bus. We took all the cans we could reach, but there was a whole other shelf out of our reach. We looked around, and saw a forklift. None of us new how to drive it but it couldn't have been hard, Matthew asked to drive and because he rides motorcycles he said it would be easy. I didn't object and he got in but didn't start it.

"No key" he said

We all stopped working and looked around for the key I ran outside to the bus and got my rake and knife spear, when I came back they were looking in an office and around there was a dead body on the floor, Bonnie and Clyde were heading straight for it.

"STOP" I yelled

Running towards them, they were a good distance away from me and when I yelled.

"WHAT?" Bonnie yelled

I kept running but when they yelled "what" the zom rose up they were extremely close and as it rose up and grabbed Clyde and bit into his leg, he fell down screaming in pain, Bonnie started kicking the zom and it grabbed her.
By the time I reached them the zom was starting on Bonnies leg bone, crunching on it. I raised the rake up and pushed it through the zoms head, it collapsed on top of Clyde who had passed out, or died. Deklan who had taken a liking to Bonnie, put her head on his lap and crying whispered something in her ear. I didn't hear what he said but she smiled and crying whispered something back.

"Look what I found" Robert called out

"WE" Matthew corrected

They hadn't witnessed or somehow heard the yelling that happened. They saw Deklan crying over Bonnie and walked over, Bonnie still had her eyes open and we could hear her breathing. Suddenly zom Clyde rose up and lunged at Bonnie and Clyde and I tripped over Deklan's knife spear blacking out.

When I woke up I was in the office, and Robert was standing over me with my rake in his hands looking out the window. I sat up and Robert came up to me and telling me I had blacked out for about half an hour and that it was 8:37, I got up and looked out the window to see a lot of zoms.

"What happened?" I asked

"After you blacked out" Robert said "the zom Clyde started eating Bonnie but I grabbed your rake and killed it. Then Matthew got the key and started trying to get the cans down, while me and Charlotte pulled you in here".

"Why are there zoms out there?" I asked

"Deklan started yelling and crying and some how the door opened and heaps of them walked in". Charlotte said

"Matthew ok?" I asked looking out the window

"Yep" Robert said

Pointing on top of the shelf, where one stack of cans had been moved. He waved at me. I looked around the room and saw a hatch in the roof, and using the desk and a chair that Robert and Charlotte were holding still pulled myself up.
There were a bunch of rocks on the roof as well as some water. Robert came up to the roof and pointed to an open roller door.

"That's where they came from it leads outside" he said

There were five rocks, and I could see a car outside. I picked up one of the rocks and threw it as hard as I could. The first one hit a zom on the head knocking it to the floor. The second over shot the car. Robert threw one and didn't make the distance.

"Don't" I told him " let me"

He stood back, and I picked up the fourth rock I threw it and broke the window. No alarm. I threw the last one trying to make the alarm sound, but missed hitting a box on the wall inside making it spark and crackle. The sound attracted some zoms but not all. They started attacking the box, and suddenly one seemed to absorb the electricity turn around and started running outside, we heard screaming and two gunshots. This attracted all the zoms and within a minute they were all outside. I ran down and pulled the gate closed and shoved one of the rocks in the opening gear. I ran back and Matthew was already back in the forklift. When we got all the cans down and most were loaded in the carts. There was a huge bang on the door. We looked at it and saw it had a huge dent in it.

"Time to go" I said

I grabbed the cart that was mostly empty and ran to a different section that everyone else did. I ran to the water isle and went to the big tubs of water and pushed four in then back to the little bottles pushing them in. I heard another bang but didn't stop to think about it, I ran outside and we put all the cans in the storage but there was a lot left we couldn't fit ini picked up two big water jugs and walked on the bus with them, I kept doing this while everyone else got cans of food. Just as picked up the last water I saw a tonne of zoms walk around the side of the building.

"Everyone on" I said

I got on and started the bus, Will was the last one on and I closed the door, put it into reverse gear and drove off.
