Chapter 105
Harry's POV
Time began to pass much too quickly, but achingly slow at the same time.
Day to day, time was passing slow as I tried to continue to live normally and visit Karleigh regularly, hoping that she'd wake. But as I look back to find that days, weeks, and eventually months have passed, I start to see how fast time is passing by and how much Karleigh is missing out on.
Gemma and Brett eventually had to leave back to Arlington and I've been avoiding my Mother.
I haven't spoken to Jocelyn since the incident at the hospital, but I know she last been visiting Karleigh still. Catherine's still in town and she absolutely refuses to leave until her daughter comes back.
Lately we haven't been seeing eye to eye on much of anything when it comes to karleigh, and I'm starting to wonder what she knows that I don't.
There's times when I'll come to visit Karleigh and when I enter the room Dr. Pope and Catherine stop talking, and Dr. Pope proceeds to excuse himself.
I feel like they've been changing a lot of Karleigh's vitals around as well as the mushed up food they've been pumping into her body.
When I went to visit her a few weeks back, she looked slightly different but I couldn't put my finger on it.
**Flashback**
My knuckles connect with the wood of the room door and I let myself inside, when I recieve no answer.
Her room is empty, with the exception of her and I pad towards her bed and sit down on the edge of the mattress. Her hand twitches for a moment as if she can feel my prescence, but remains asleep.
My hand reaches up to brush some stray hairs away from her face. Her skin is a flushed color, a warm pink tinting her cheeks. For the first time since she's been in the coma, her skin isn't clammy and cold, it's surprisingly warm, rather.
They moved her into a more 'permanent' type of room on a higher floor in the hospital, considering she wouldn't be coming out of the coma anytime soon.
I'm assuming her warmth has something to do with the sunshine beaming in through the nearby window, right onto her skin making her look as if she's glowing.
My eyes glide down her body that I haven't felt in so long.
I'm surprised she hasn't lost a lot of weight due to the decrease in food that's being put into her system. But she actually seems bloated slightly.
I run my hand across her covered stomach, just as the door to her room flies open.
Catherine's eyes land on my hand on her stomach and she glares at me.
"What the hell are you doing?" she hisses.
"Visiting." I awkwardly reply, directing my attention back to Karleigh's face and avoiding Catherine's harsh eyes.
"You need to leave for a while, Dr. Pope has some things he needs to examine." Catherine states, crossing her arms as she waits for me to rise and exit the room.
**Flashback over**
With Karleigh weighing so heavily on my mind, I rise from my seat on the couch.
"Where ya going?" Niall asks.
"To see Karleigh." I tell him as I walk out of the apartment.
And as I make my way towards my car, I feel something tugging deep in my gut. I'm not sure why, but I feel different today.
