Chapter 113
Harry's POV
Her long, blonde waves are tied back into a messy ponytail, her big, blue eyes peering at me happily. "Did you hear me Harry?" Her lips move, calling out to me.
I blink back into reality and focus on what she's saying. "What?" I gasp.
"I remember, Harry. I remember everything." Karleigh's full lips repeat to me but her words seem too good to be true.
She moves towards me, crossing my room so she can stand near me. Her arms reach out and she laces them around my neck, staring down at my lips. "I remember." She whispers once more, her eyes still fixed on my mouth.
"Kiss me." She pleas.
In an instant my mouth is glued to hers, our lips moving in sync. Leaning back slowly, my back is pressed flat on the mattress. Karleigh climbs atop my lap, our lips never separating.
Karleigh's mouth strays from mine, sucking and nipping at the sensitive skin of my neck. Pleasurable groans escapes my lips, and I can't help but dig the pads of my fingers into her ass as she continues.
My entire body yearns for her touch, her taste. Her nails lightly rake down my bare arms and I can't take her slow, teasing pace anymore. Grabbing her by the waist, I flip her underneath me and move to lift the edges of her shirt.
Her hands fly to my wrists, stopping my from lifting her shirt over her head. My lips freeze and I break away from our kiss so I can see her eyes.
"What?" I cautiously ask her.
"I don't want you to see..." Karleigh nervously mumbles.
"See what?"
"My scars. T-they're hideous." She whispers.
I shake my head, arguing her statement. "No they aren't."
"They were painful and they're ugly and I hate them." She whines.
That's when my eyes lock on hers. Her blue eyes stare into mine, but something's off about her eyes. There's something missing here. I jump off of Karleigh in a rush, looking around the room frantically.
My hands grab fistfuls of my curls. Karleigh stands up from the bed and treads toward me slowly. Her brows raise mockingly as she speaks the words, "What is it Harry?"
"You're not real." I cry out, clenching my eyes shut desperately.
**
I jolt awake, my body clammy and my sheets dampened. I swipe the back of my hand along my forehead to rid some of the sweat but it barely helps.
Gasps are coming in and out of my mouth, my body aches desperately for air.
My temples are throbbing at the dream I just had, and the reality of it. It felt so real, she seemed so real...the only thing off was her eyes.
Shivers run along my skin as I think back to the vivid dream I just had.
The room is much too hot, even though the fan is spinning at it's fastest speed. With my feet, I kick the sheets off of me to expose my overheated body to the fan's breeze.
My mind gradually starts to stray to the images from my dream. It's the best nightmare I could've possibly had, honestly. The dream gave me the thing I want most in life currently, for Karleigh to remember.
But the downfall to the dream, was the falsehood that it held, it was a lie. Because not only was it a taste of the reality I wish for, but it was taken away from me.
