Hello again! I hope you're enjoying the story so far. Honestly, I have no idea where I'm going with this but I do have some parts planned out. Some may be sad, surprising, or happy at some parts. How fun is a story full of horrible events? Anyway, I'll let you get back to the story and enjoy!

Chapter 5: Goodbye

I had ended up spending the rest of the night with Christian. It also got a bit annoying seeing Brogan staring at us every 10 minutes. But every time Lacey came along he seemed fine again. If I didn't know any better, I'd think Lacy is the one he likes, not me.

Christian offered to walk me home, since we discovered his house was only a few blocks away from mine, but I decided it was too risky. For one, I just met him, and it was 10:20 at night. I had always had a thing for 'stranger danger'. It was by far, my biggest fear.

"Thanks, Christian. I appreciate you talking to me tonight. Not many people really consider me... Worth talking to, I guess. It's nice to have someone that doesn't just base me on what everybody else says." I was slightly embarrassed by confessing my feelings to such a newly introduced person, especially since he was a guy, a very attractive one, I must say.

"No problem, Scooter. I guess I'll be seeing you at school. Do we have any classes together?" He was now staring at me, waiting for an answer, but I couldn't help but get lost in his dark brown eyes.

"Scooter?" I shook myself back to reality, trying to remember my classes, but having such a good-looking guy so close to me was putting me a bit off guard.

"I have Science, then English, and French, and my last class is Physical Education." I said the full expression because I wanted to stay here longer with him. I know it was only 0.2514 seconds longer, but every second counts, right?

"I guess I will be seeing you during first period. Bye, Scooter." As he finished talking, I forgot to leave. But he snapped me awake and I could just overhear him laugh quietly as I went to look for Daphne.

She was dancing with Jeremy in the living room and Samantha was with Brice. They both looked like they were having a great time and I really didn't want to bother them. Well, the main reason was that I didn't want to go anywhere near Brogan's gang, actually.

"I'll just ask Christian," I sighed and as I was turning around to go look for him, Brogan stepped in my way.

"Christian, so that's his name. What were you doing with him?!" Brogan actually looked angry, it's not like we're dating.

"I was having a good time. He was actually acting like a friend to me." I shoved Brogan to the side and headed toward the dining room.

"You two looked like more than just friends back there." His face was beginning to redden and I could tell how furious he was.

"Just like you and Lacy? You were the one who invited me to this party, didn't you expect that I would meet someone?" I huffed and began shoving a- very delicious- cookie down my throat. A sign of how stressed I was. I continued when there was no more crumbs in my mouth. "Why does it bother you that I made a friend?"

"A guy friend!" He cut in.

"It's not like we're dating!" Now I was not only stressed, but frustrated and I stomped toward where I saw Christian sitting on the brown leather couch.

"What if I want us to be?" Brogan finally calmed down, but part of the reason he lowered his voice so no one could hear him.

I turned to stare at him. "Brogan, you're leaving tomorrow, why would we start dating now, and then never see each other again? I'm sorry but, I need to find Christian." And I left Brogan staring with a pained look in his eyes. He couldn't insult me for years and then come a long and ask me to be his girlfriend!
