Hello, so here I am again. I really hope you're enjoying my story and just to let you know I have planned out 21 chapters. Keep reading and thanks again. :)

Chapter 18:

Brogan. Brogan. Brogan. Brogan.

This isn't possible. Maybe my eyes were messed up from that collision. But how would he know my name?

Brogan?

I guess I said it out loud because he replied, "Yeah, Scooter?" So I guess it is him.

"What are you doing here?" It was actually Brogan. He stared at me, then began picking up my books. I helped and finally answered his question.

"I was adopted."

"What?" He shouted, then quieted down again. Oh right! Brogan still didn't know that my parents passed away.

"My parents, they died a while after you left and I went to the adoption centre. A women named Rose Henderson adopted me yesterday." I gathered all my books and stood up.

Brogan seemed like he wanted to say something but hesitated. Finally, I bugged it out of him. "How's- how's Christian?" I stared down at the floor and didn't reply. "Oh, I'm sorry did you guys break up?"

"Well, no, yes, sort of, I guess." I rambled. Brogan didn't know which answer to believe. I sighed. "Yes, because we kind of got adopted together so we can't really date, being siblings and all..." I trailed off.

Brogan paused, awkwardly shifting on his feet. "Oh." Was all he said. Then, after a longer wait than expected, I continued walking. Surprisingly, Brogan followed.

"Sorry to hear about Christian and your parents. Other than that, how are things?" Brogan asked, trying to create conversation. I didn't have time for conversation.

"Fine." I answered, finally finding the science room. Brogan continued down the hall to his own class, and I saw Christian inside already, just settling down.

I introduced myself to Ms. Jones and sat down at an empty seat at the back. Rose sent the work our old teachers had for us for the last week of school this morning, so we had something to do. I finished reading the text book pages assigned and started the first question when the bell rang and Ms. Jones dismissed us. It was a quick class.

English was next and I said goodbye to Christian because he wasn't in this class. Brogan was there, though and I sat in the seat behind him. He seemed to really focus now, whereas at the old school, he didn't give a care in the world about his grades.

"Scooter, is it?" The teacher asked from her desk. I nodded. "Pay attention, I can see you wondering back there, you know."

I quickly started doing my work, surprised at that comment. How did she know I wasn't just thinking? These teachers here at Springcreek High seem to be quite strict on their students, especially new ones.

The lunch bell rang, but only after I had gotten in trouble for wandering two more times. "Scooter, wait up!" Christian jogged toward me from his classroom across the hall. I was already out the door, trying to find the quickest way to my locker.

"What's up?" He asked, knowing that something was on my mind. He asked again, and I decided that he deserved to know.

At my locker, I shoved my books into it, and grabbed my lunch. "Christian, this is Brogan's school. We came to Brogan's new school." I didn't know what to think. Was I happy? Was I worried? I didn't even know if I wanted to see him again, but maybe I did.

"What?" Christian spun me to face him and held me there. "Brogan is here, as in, this school?" He then freed me and we walked to class, his was near my French room, just so we didn't need to worry about finding them after lunch.
