Chapter 20: My House

I pulled away suddenly.

What just happened?!

"No second chances, eh?" Brogan smirked. He ran his hand through his hair and smiled his "charming" smile at me.

I glared at him. "How dare you?!" With my bag on my back, I spun around and tried to race off to my house. I could almost see it now.

Brogan chased after me and caught up quickly. Again, he held me in place. "How dare I? Sweetie, you kissed back." He chuckled again. "Maybe this can work."

I ripped my arm from him. "No! It won't, it never will. Goodbye Brogan." And with that, I left for home.

"Christian!" I called as I ran into the house. "Christian!" He slowly came from upstairs, clearly confused.

He got the the bottom of the stairs. I hurried over and jumped into his arms. He hugged me tight, but still bewildered. "Wha-"

"I kissed him!" Christian was about to speak, obviously asking who the heck I was talking to. "Brogan, I kissed Brogan." I felt so weak.

Why did he do that? Why did I do that? I don't even like him... Anymore. Whatever, it was a mistake, people make mistakes, we learn from them. But this was just... weird.

Christian was like a brother to me know. Those "more than friend" feelings had ebbed away, and he was now just my brother. Just like how Rose was just my foster mother.

"Are you okay?" He asked sitting down on the coach and wiped a tear away. I caught my breath for a few seconds and Christian left to get me a glass of Apple juice.

I nodded. "I'm okay, it just took me off guard, you know, made me a little mad. I don't know why I did that. He kissed me and I didn't pull away, or anything. But, I'm just going to forget about it." I sighed. "And if you ever bring it up again, I slap you." I said, now in a joking tone.

He laughed and agreed to never mention this again. We began talking about our day, trying to get off the topic of Brogan. Christian was acting like my brother.

Beep!

My phone buzzed from the kitchen table. I hurried to get it and recognized Erin's number that she had saved onto my phone yesterday.

"Hey. Do you want to have a sleepover on Friday? Morgan and B r coming."

I had recently got used to calling Becca, B. I immediately replied saying yes! I had only been to two or three other sleepovers in my life. She texted back soon.

"Great! See you there. We will be celebrated the beginning of summer vacation!"

I was as excited as I've ever been walking home on Friday. School was out and I was about to have a sleepover with my three new best friends! And, I didn't have to see Brogan again for months!

"Hey guys!" I met up with Morgan, B, and Erin at the front of the school. We all walked to Erin's together with our pillows and clothes for tomorrow. I said goodbye to Christian and he continued to walk home by himself, on the last day of school. I felt bad for him and ran and hugged him from behind. "See you tomorrow." I dashed off, back to my friends.
