Your POV

Today was gonna be so much fun. It was a day where Chiron let us go out around New York, of course with our weapons just incase, and explore. I dragged by boyfriend of 9 months to a bowling alley I saw. It was pretty old. Frank and I walked in to see a bar and something tucked in the back. I walked through the tables to find a bowling alley. Now, most people bowl at fancy places with high tech stuff and fancy balls, but this was much better to me. It was small, 8 lanes, with real wood floors and the old shoes that everyone loved. It had that authentic smell, old balls that had definitely seen some action, and no tech. Paper score cards, open ball returns, and nice seats that were classic. Old fashioned, but still with charm. It was called Bryant-Lake Bowl, tucked away in between a few old restaurants. I walked up to that man who was standing behind a counter in the back and asked for a lane and shoes. He told us to go to lane 7 and the shoes were on the wall, handing us a paper scoring sheet and a pencil. Frank and I walked over and grabbed our shoes, then went to look at the balls. Frank chose a 14lb one that was blue with red swirls. I chose a plain black one that didn't have a weight on it, but it felt perfect. We put the balls on the rack and set up the score card, having Frank go first since he hadn't been bowling in awhile. He bowled a 7, which wasn't that bad. I on the other hand, had been bowling regularly since I was 12 and was on my high school bowling team until I had to leave. I was pretty good, but Frank didn't know that until I bowled. Strike right down the middle. I turned around to see his mouth hanging open, completely flabbergasted by what he just saw.

"Close your mouth. You'll catch flies."

We had finished the two games we played and I had won, by a lot. We still had fun though. We ordered lunch and talked about a lot of different things while we were there. Sadly, we were running out of time and had to get back to camp. I walked up to the man at the counter and told him we were done, but that I wanted to buy one of the balls. He told me he would grab the manager and see if I could buy it. I was so excited about this that I was jumping up and down.

"What are you so excited about?" Frank asked as the manager came upstairs. I shushed him and the manager asked to see the ball. He looked at it for a minute while I held by breath and after awhile he said he would give it to me for $10. I payed for the ball along with everything else and was about to leave when the guy who ran the desk told me to wait and ran downstairs. He came back up an minute later with an old bag for the ball. I thanked him and put the ball in the bag, realizing it didn't have a zipper. I didn't mind, so Frank and I walked out and headed down the street. "So, I imagine you had fun? You seemed to really enjoy that place." I nodded.

"I went to a place like that when I was younger with my grandparents, so it brings back memories. I always liked those old-fashioned places." Frank smiled and kissed my cheek.

"If it makes you happy, we can go there more often." I smiled as we walked down to where the bus was gonna pick us up.

I know it's short but this story (minus a boy) was based around my time in Minneapolis. I met Lilly Singh last night and she wished me a happy birthday. It was awesome, so I deemed this the best birthday ever. That's it for now, but I want to write chapters for often so if you see more updates, that's why.
