Katniss

Even though Snow is dead and Panem is at peace, I still go hunting in secret. They have finally built a new and improved version of District 12 even though it is no longer considered a district. I grab my arrows from the tree I always kept it in. The tree that, even after all these years, hadn't been destroyed.

I run through the forest, with the sound of life all around me. This year we have had an abundance of turkeys, so they're not so hard to come across. I draw back the arrow, and release it. As I do, I remember the time when I had to shoot this arrow for survival and for protection from the capitol. I retrieve the arrow and the turkey along with it. Peeta, along with my two children, Gale and Prim, would like this for dinner.

I return home just as night starts to fall. The sun, now a bright orange, starts to sink away behind the trees. As soon as I enter the house, I am engulfed in Peeta's arms.

"Hello, Girl on Fire," He says, planting a kiss on my cheek. "How are you?"

"Fantastic, Bread boy. Just great!" I say sincerely.

"Mommy! Mommy!" I hear a voice chirp from the kitchen.

"You better go see what she's up to." Peeta says. "But I have something important to tell you after dinner."

I raise my eyebrow in curiosity just as Prim comes in. "Mommy, look what I made!" She holds up a drawing of a bird. As I look closer, I see that it is a Mocking Jay. I shift slightly with unease. It's been so long since I've seen that. So long since I've been called that.

"It's beautiful." Peeta says, speaking up for me.

"Yes," I say recollecting myself. "It is."

"I drew it just like the one on the pin you keep upstairs," she says smiling, "do you like it?"

"We do. As a matter of fact, a master piece like that should be kept where everyone can see it." says Peeta.

"Can we put it in your art room, Daddy?" She asks, her eyes wide with exitement. Ever since the Peace started, Peeta has been painting more than ever. He painted and drew so much, we had to make a special room for him in the Attic. Now, a bunch of the people in District 12 come to our house and walk through the "studio" as Peeta calls it, just to see his work.

"Sure, sweetheart. Lets go hang it up now." She squeals with excitement and grabs his hand, trying to pull him upstairs. "By the way, Haymitch and Effie are coming over, I've already made dinner, and Gale is asleep. Don't forget we have business to discuss." Peeta calls over his shoulder, jogging up the stairs.

I nod my head. I walk into the kitchen and wrap up the turkey and put it in the fridge. I run to Peeta and I's room to change and tidy myself up a bit. Effie would have a fit if she saw me now. By the time I come back downstairs, Gale is awake and Haymitch and Effie are already at the dinner table.

"Hey, Sweetheart." Haymitch says, standing up to give me a hug.

"Oh, hello dear!" Effie says, pulling me in her arms as soon as Haymitch lets me go. Haymitch looks so much different than he did 15 years ago. Instead of looking older, he actually looks younger, like the peace benefited his health or something. He's still Haymitch though. Effie looks more...well...human. She has light makeup on. Only some eye shadow and some foundation, as well as some lipstick. She has stopped dying her hair bizarre colors and wearing wigs, but wears her natural blonde hair that is streaked with white in unique styles. Her outfits are bright but sophisticated, and she has become more like a mother to me with every passing day. Also, did I mention that they got married? It was a surprising turn out, even to them, but they are very happy together.

We all sit down to eat. I sit between Gale and Prim to help them with their dinner. We all exchange some delightful conversation. They update us about what they've been doing for the pass two years, and we update them as well. By the time it's time for me to put Prim and Gale to bed, we have all stuffed our stomachs full. I go upstairs and tuck them in, and sing them the Valley Song, closing it with a part I added when they were born; Rue's tune. I kiss them both and go back downstairs to see that the table has been cleared and it has a stack of papers on it. Peeta, Haymitch, and Effie have all gathered around the table, their expressions serious.

"Katniss," Peeta says motioning me toward him. I go to him and he rests his arm on my shoulders.

"So are you sure there is nothing we can do about it?" Peeta continues, talking to Haymitch.

"Positive. This one is not something we can handle." Haymitch says defeated.

"So whats going to happen?" Peeta asks.

"From what I know, we are going to be divided into smaller districts, based on personality." says Effie.

"But whoever wants to do this has to put up a fight, right?" Peeta says.

"Yes, and-," Haymitch starts.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa! Wait a sec! Can someone please tell me whats going on?" I say. Nobody says something for a few seconds, then Haymitch speaks up, a sad look on his face.

"I'm sorry to tell you this, Sweetheart, but... there's about to be another uprising."
