A.N./: First, I’d like to apologize because this is a bit of a short chapter. Secondly, I honestly don’t know when the next Tris chapter will be, in case you all are wondering because since Divergent is in Tris’s POV, you pretty much know everything that’s going on in her perspective. Also, please vote, comment, and share! Thanks! <3

Chapter Eleven: Katniss

After the blonde-haired girl that was after Gale went, Peeta reminded me that I have to go back to the Dauntless compound before the initiates get there. With one last look at “Marcus Eaton”, “Andrew Prior”, and “Natalie Prior”, I kiss Peeta on the cheek and run out of the Hub. By the time I make it to the tracks, the train has already started moving a bit. I run and jump onto it, and it isn’t until I’m slumped up against the wall that I let out the breath I’ve been holding since I got to the Hub. It was all so much to take in. My friends are alive and well, my son just Chose… and I may or may not just have seen my daughter. As these thoughts replay themselves in my head for a while longer, I feel the train start to slow down. It looks like I’m going to have to take the initiates’ entrance. I jump onto the roof, and then walk to the edge, where a large, gaping hole greets me at least 5 stories down. I silently pray that they’ve put up the net, then I leap. Thankfully, tough rope meets me at the bottom, along with a teasing laugh.

“Four, what the hell are you doing here?” I ask the 18 year old who is smirking up at me.

“I’m suppose to greet the initiates when they get here.”

“And by “greet” I’m guessing you mean scare the crap out of them before they have a chance to react?”

“Yep!” He says, just as we hear the next train slowing down from above us.

“Hmm… have fun. I’m going to make sure everything’s in order for tonight.” I say, walking down the dark corridor. Four tells me to save him some cake, then turns his attention back to what’s going on. After passing the Chasm and entering the Pit, I make my way to the place where the initiates will be staying. After making sure everything is in tip-top-condition, I walk back to the cafeteria. People are buzzing around making food and preparing for the extra crowd. Seeing that there is no reason for me to get in the way, I make my way back to my own house.

It’s empty and silent, which means I have plenty of time to think. Sitting on my sofa, I put my hands over my eyes. Why was Gale and Haymitch thrown in Abnegation? Annie had disappeared years ago, so why has she shown up all of the sudden? And if Gale did keep Prim all these years, was that her that we just saw? So many questions and so little time, because judging by the noise that comes from the Pit, the initiates, both transfers and the Dauntless born, are here. I leap up from the sofa, and then make my way to the cafeteria. I like getting a look at the “fresh meat” as Four calls it.

I can spot Gale and his friends after I get my dinner, and I’m just about to walk over to him when I realize how embarrassing it would be for him if his mother walked over and sat with him. So I scan the crowd again for another familiar face. I see Four, sitting at a table with a bunch of transfers. There’s one empty seat across from him, and seeing as no one is going to take it any time soon, I make my way towards it. I’m just about to set down my tray when a blonde transfer bumps into me.

“Oh, my gosh! Sorry!” She says to me as she stumbles a bit, knocking my own tray into me slightly. Looking at her face I recognize her as the girl from the Choosing Ceremony. The girl that Peeta thinks is ours.

“No, no. It’s fine.” I say back to her as I wipe the small ketchup stain that is standing out against my black attire.

“Um… I’ll just go sit over there then.” She indicates to another seat not far from this one, that’s in the middle of some transfers. Sitting down, I look at Four, who’s gaze is following the girl as she takes her place among her friends.

“Well, she’s… something…” I say, digging into my hamburger.

“Yeah. She was the first jumper, you know.” Four says, still looking at her.

I almost spit out my food in shock. “A stiff. That’s not something you see every day.”

He just shrugs his shoulders. “Yep, I guess so.”

“And do I get the pleasure of knowing the first jumper’s name?” I raise an eyebrow at him.

Four looks at me, a look of questioning in his eyes. “Tris. Tris Prior.”

I nod my head, not wanting to seem too suspicious or stalkerish wanting to know more about the girl.

“Tris.” Is all I say before turning my attention back to my burger.
