When Sam turns around she sees Shaylynn and Kelly. 'Why didn't you tell me?' Shaylynn asks.

'Because I knew you'd hunt the bastard down and kill him.' Sam says. 'I'm going back to the district.' She says pushing past Shaylynn.

'Sam.' Shaylynn says sternly and Sam turns back around. 'I can help.'

'I don't want you to help.' Sam tells her

'Sam, please.' Shaylynn pleads.

'Shaylynn! For once in your life would you just let me deal with this on my own?!' Sam exclaims before storming off. Shaylynn shoots a glare at Andrew before heading to the hospital cafeteria with Kelly.

'Why didn't she tell me? Confide in me?' Shaylynn asks. 'I didn't even know that she'd been, you know. What kind of sister am I?'

'Shaylynn, you're a wonderful sister to Sam. You care for her. You offered her help. You can't do much more.' Kelly tells her.

'I'm meant to protect her.' Shaylynn replies.

'You can't protect her all the time.' Kelly tells her.

At the district, when Sam arrives she walks up to the desk. 'Hey Trudy.'

'Sam. Hey.' Trudy smiles. 'Miss Cooper is up in the intelligence break room.'

'Thanks Trudy.' Sam responds before walking up into intelligence. When she does she walks into the break room where Erin is, who leaves. 'Why were you looking for me?' Sam asks leaning against the wall. 'Oh, and before we start you are looking at serious charges, pseudocide, so I'd think very carefully about what you say next.'

'I wanted to talk to you about Martin.' Ava says.

'What about him? He's awaiting trial.' Sam says.

'He's the reason my mom faked our death.' Ava tells her.

'Why did she fake your death?'

'She told me about his past. About who he is.' Ava says.

'And that warranted your mom faking your death?' Sam asks raising an eyebrow.

'She said that he would hit her when she didn't do what he wanted, that he'd shake me. I figured that since in my medical book, it says I was treated for shaken baby syndrome when I was younger and I've suffered from migraines ever since.' Ava explains. 'She wanted to protect me.'

'Where is she know?' Sam asks.

'I don't know. That's one of the reasons I wanted to see you.' She replies.

'The other?'

'We've lived in Spain for the past two decades. He turned up last year saying that he was going to kill us for what we did. A few days later, our shed is torched. There was a note left behind and a red and white polka dot handkerchief. The note said something like, I warned you, I can't exactly remember.' Ava discloses. Olinsky then walks in and pulls Sam to one side.

'Patrol officers found Alexander Rossetti. He's dead.' Olinsky tells her.

Hey Guys!

So very soon (15th May) I will have my first final exam. I am not planing on updating everyday like I normally do. So, I will try and get as much of this book done as possible, end it and then start a new book (#2) in the series which will be called the Circle of Life. My final exam is on the 14th of June so my regular updates will resume after that!
