Hayden woke up with a start. Her room was freezing. She sat up, realising her window was open. No. Not open. Broken. And Lydia, was gone. Hayden gulped as she saw the blood on the shards of glass left. She jumped out of bed, dragging on a hoodie and her Uggs. She was in pyjama shorts, but she didn't care. She just wanted to find her best friend. Slipping out of her window carefully, Hayden began the walk to his house. She knew he wouldn't want to see her, but he was going to have to put up with her.
She went round the back, and jumped up the tree that reached his window. She tapped lightly on the glass, knowing he would still be awake. He came to the window, but when he saw who it was, he turned away. Hayden felt a tear run down her cheek, and she whispered through the glass, " Liam , please. I need you- um your help." Liam sighed and let her in reluctantly. Hayden wiped away her tears fiercely, and went to sit on his bed. He dived forward and grabbed something, but he hid it before she could see it. Hayden perched on his bed, fiddling with his pillow. Liam sat next to her on the bed, but not touching her. Hayden sniffed, and she felt Liam wince. She tried to shrug it off, but it made her happy. Liam winced whenever she was in pain. Maybe he didn't find her completely repulsive? She turned to him, and he noticed the fear and pain in her eyes. His heart lurched, and he had the sudden urge to take her hand, hug her, comfort her. "So... What's up?" Liam asked nervously. Hayden looked up at him, surprised. She answered him surely, but with an evident hint of terror. "It's Lydia. I woke up, and she was- well, gone. My window's broken, and there's blood everywhere. I-I don't know what to do." Liam concentrated, trying to think. Hayden looked at him hesitantly, and resisted the urge to cup his cheek with her hand. He looked back at her, and caught her staring at him. He stared into her eyes, his stare filled with longing. Both smiled a little, an understanding having passed between them. They were interrupted when another tap came on the window. This time Scott was there. Liam looked at him with utter disgust, and Hayden looked fearfully around. Scott sighed and shoved the window up letting himself in. Liam was taken aback, Scott was the last person Liam wanted to talk to, and Hayden was definitely first. Liam looked at Hayden and saw her just as angry as him. "Scott. You need to leave. Now." Hayden demanded. Liam looked at her , surprised, and happy at the same time. Scott looked at the floor. "Look, both of you. Liam, you need to know what actually happened." Liam's eyes filled with rage. "I know exactly what happened. You kissed my girlfriend. The girl I love. And she kissed you back. Simple as. Both of you, ruined my life. And it's your fault Scott. All your fault." Scott looked sheepishly at the ground. "Um, Liam? Can I tell you something?" Liam turned to Hayden, his temper calming when he saw he soulful brown eyes. "Sure." Hayden smiled weakly. "Scott? Can you please go? When I tell him this, you really don't want to be there." Scott nodded and was out of the window quick as a wink. Liam turned to see Hayden staring at the floor. He sighed and went and stood next to her. He crouched so he was at eye-level with her, looking into her eyes. "Liam, I came to find you. I had been gone for a few days, and Scott, forgot to tell me that he knew where you were. That's why I didn't think you'd be in Eichen House. I thought you 'd been dragged far away, out of my reach. I'm still yet to find out why, but Scott didn't tell me. He came to meet me, told me he wanted to help. I was apologising for not telling anyone where I was, and then- he just kissed me. Like that. And then I ran. I-I don't know what I was thinking. When Lydia told me they knew where you were, I didn't think they'd known before. But Scott had known for four days. And he didn't tell me, Stiles did. So I didn't speak to Scott for a week after we found you. But then, at the party, when I saw that Senior girl kissing you... I just wanted to hurt you. So I did the one thing that would break you. I kissed your best friend. I'm sorry Liam, I just got jealous. I love you, and I'll never stop loving you. But I know that I broke your heart, so I'm not going to try get you back. Just know that I love you." Hayden was crying by this point, and Liam was shocked. He watched as Hayden stood up and walked to the window. It was now or never. "I love you too." Hayden spun round, her eyes filling with fresh tears. He nodded, crying himself. Hayden sobbed and fell into his arms, shuddering and hugging him tight fit to burst. She pulled away, and before she knew it his lips were on hers, and she felt complete once more
