Liam listened to his phone ring, over and over. "Come on Hayden. Where are you?" He carried on pacing by his window, and eventually heard a car pull up outside. A few moments later, there was a thud as Hayden jumped onto Liam's window ledge. He shoved up the sash, and helped her in. He picked her up and swung her round, while she laughed hysterically. He kissed her forehead gently, and set her down on her feet. She closed her eyes, and leaned against him. He hugged her tightly and looked at her. "Hey, you fancy a movie? You can choose." She smiled at him and  nodded. "Sounds good." He looked into her chocolate brown eyes. "Hey. You ok? You seem a little distracted. Hayden sighed. "It's just Val. I hate lying to her so much." Liam put an arm round Hayden, and she leaned against him. "It's fine. You won't always have to lie to her. I promise." She looked up at him and smiled. "Okay, so fancy the notebook? Me Before You? Mean Girls?" Liam looked in horror at Hayden. "Um. How about a new movie? I bought this one, it's called 'The Space Between Us'." Hayden jumped up and down. "No way! That's only just in cinemas! How did you get it?" Liam laughed at her, and put it in the DVD player. "I know a guy" Hayden jumped onto Liam's bed, and he lay down next to her. Liam put an arm round Hayden, and she snuggled against him. He smiled and settled down to watch the movie. He loved the times like this. When they both just lay in each other's arms and watched a movie. It made him feel safe, and he could sense that it made her feel that way too. "Wait. We need popcorn." Liam laughed. "Oh my god, do you ever think of anything besides your stomach?!" Hayden shrugged and leapt off the bed. "You coming?" Liam shook his head. "Nah, I'll stay here. You go, you know where all the food is!" Hayden grinned and walked out the door, laughing.

Liam leapt up, startled. He raced down the stairs, seeing a trail of destruction before him. He stepped carefully over shattered glass, and tried not to worry about the amount of blood on the floor. He gulped, and carried on toward the kitchen. "Hayden? You okay?" He rounded the corner, only to step back when he saw Hayden with a knife at her throat. The knife-bearer was strangely familiar, but Liam couldn't put his finger on where he'd seen him before. Liam took out his phone. He started a text to Scott, but before he could send it, he heard a sneering voice. "I wouldn't do that if I were you. It'll just make life for your girlfriend a lot harder." Liam heard Hayden sob, and his heart wrenched. He quickly hit send, and then deleted the text. Hopefully Scott would get it in time. He then walked into the kitchen, arms up, with just his phone. He showed the guy his phone, and that he hadn't sent it. When he was satisfied, the knife-bearer grunted, and Liam put his phone on the work top. He then stepped back, looking at Hayden worriedly. "Oh don't worry. I don't want to hurt her. I just need you to come with me. She can stay. Tied up of course, but it's better than death I suppose." The man snickered. He lowered the knife, and Hayden took her chance. She ran to Liam, and shuddered in his arms. The man was glaring at them dangerously. Liam gently released himself from Hayden's grip. "I gotta go, okay? I don't want you getting hurt. Stay here, I'll do what I can. I'll be okay." Hayden burst into fresh floods of tears. She let go of him reluctantly, and Liam took a deep breath. "So, if I come with you, no harm comes to her? You swear?" The man in the mask nodded solemnly. "Unless, of course, no-one finds her. Then she might die of starvation. But hey, worst case scenario!" Liam looked at Hayden. She was shaking, and crying. He gave her one last hug and kissed her forehead, and then she found herself tied up against the banister. Liam, and the man in the mask, were gone. She tried to reach round for her phone, but then she saw it smashed to pieces across the hall. Then she smelt something. Smoke. The bastard had set Liam's house on fire! She screamed, hoping Scott, or anyone would hear it. She howled too, knowing that it would catch Scott's attention. In a flash, she heard the door burst open, and someone cursing as the flames hit them. The fire licked around Hayden's ankles, burning her skin. Scott came diving through the smoke, and he ripped the ropes that bound Hayden. When she appeared too weak to move, he picked her up and carried her away from the house. He looked back at the ball of flames, and wondered what on earth had gone on. He looked down at Hayden, and found her burnt, and passed out. He looked at his phone. The text from Liam read: 'Scott. Need u here now! Hayden in danger. Help pls!' Scott shook his head. He walked down to his bike, and then looked at Hayden again. there was no chance of her being able to sit up right on it. So, he dialled the number, and soon enough, a battered blue jeep pulled up outside of Liam's shell of a house. Stiles looked at the house, then to Hayden. Scott's face was grave, and as he climbed into the jeep, he noticed something. Hayden was covered in cuts, about an inch deep. And they were oozing a black substance, and they smelt rancid. 'Wolfsbane and Mountain Ash? Whoever did this knows their stuff' thought Scott. He took pictures of them, and then told Stiles to drive to the hospital. The pair drove in silence, only broken by the rustle of one of them turning to look at Hayden, who was still not healing.
