"What?" I asked. They didn't say anything for the next minute or so but I waited. Still speechless they stood and I finally gave up and started walking away. Jake caught my arm and turned me to face him. A huge smile was spread across his face.

"You just got rid of my biggest problem yet." He said and what had just happened came crashing down onto me. I slapped a hand against my forehead and groaned. Chelsea is not someone who you can just walk up to and easily chase away. I must have really damaged her. Oh well.

"I can't believe that I just did that. I seriously need to get a filter for my mouth because I'm sure that it's going to get me into more trouble and I do not need that right now." They laughed and Leah placed her hand on my shoulder silently steering me in the direction that I needed to walk in.

"Why, Jake. I believe our little badass is coming back and it only took a bitch to get it to happen. I have a feeling that senior year is going to be different for us from now on." I shrugged her hand off. I did not like the sound of that.

"I'm not little even though I am the youngest in the group. Leah, you are only four months older than me and Jake, you're only a year. That reminds me. You never told me why you kept yourself back when you passed with A's." Jake laughed and put his arms round my shoulder. The laughter wasn't real though.

"I kept myself back so that I could look after you two nimrods in senior year. I know how hectic it can be and besides, I wasn't ready to leave yet and it's cool having an edge over all the students." We all laughed and carried on walking to the cafeteria. Typical Jake. His edge being that he could get all the booze without any fuss because he was legal for parties.

"I don't need a babysitter you know. I can handle myself pretty well." I crossed my arms to make my point but they just laughed. That frustrated me even more. I hated to do this but I had to. "But seriously, Jake. All those universities and colleges that you applied to still say that if you want to you can drop out and go study right now because your grades are that good." Jake sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose with his forefinger and thumb. "Avie, how many times must I tell you that it was my choice to do it? I didn't need to do it. I wanted to and you need to get over it." I growled at that and I started walking away from him. Oh my goodness! I actually growled. Where the hell did that come from? I walked faster through the crowd to get to the bathroom. I heard Jake and Leah call my name but I kept walking. I rushed into the bathroom and thanked God that it was empty.

"Breath, Avita." I repeated to myself over and over while looked into the mirror. Did my hair grow? I ran my hand through my hair that now sat by my waist. Okay, this is freaking me out. I started noticing other changes as well. My chest had filled out and I got more muscle than usual. The scent of the lavender soap actually burned my nose and I could hear sounds that I'm sure I am not suppose to. Panic was starting to settle in and I'm not very good at handling it. My shoulder starting itching hectically again at the same time my bruises starting burning. A cry came out of my mouth and I sunk to the ground. I felt like all the air was knocked out of my lungs and I was suffocating. My gums starting to pain and I tasted blood in my mouth. With the strength that I had left I got up and spat into the sink.

"Holy shit! My mouth is bleeding." I cried. The metallic taste started to make me sick so I rinsed my mouth out with water until it was clear. When the water became clear I realized that my gums stopped paining. I ran my tongue over my teeth and winced when I felt something sharp. My gaze snapped to the mirror and I opened my mouth to reveal fangs. No, they're more like canines. Oh, this is bad! This is so bad!

"What the hell?" I cried. The door opened and Leah stepped in. She walked towards me but I shook my head. She stopped. "Avie, what's wrong." Before I could answer her a wave of pain washed over me and I dropped to the floor again. "Avita!" she screamed and ran over to me. Kneeling next to me she asked loudly what the hell was going on. Or maybe it's just my hearing that made her seem like she's shouting. Nope, she was shouting. My ears were ringing. Damn it! Shut up!

"I don't know! This pain and irritation started coming over me and I grew fangs! I grew freaking fangs, Leah!" I shouted as I opened my mouth to show her my fangs. Her face paled.

"Snap! Jake, get you freaking ass in here!" she screamed and the door burst open with Jake looking ready to punch anything in his way. His eyes drifted towards me and dashed forward.

"What the hell is happening to her?" he asked frantically to Leah who started hyperventilating.

"I don't know!! She's in pain and has freaking fangs!" he paled as well. His face shone with disbelief and I smiled at him showing him my newly sharpened teeth. "Surprise." I said lamely. He shot me a irritated look.

"Holy snapping something! That's not right. She's not a freaking vampire!" he freaked. My bruises started to burn again and I cried out again. That seemed to have gotten their attention. Jake's face was twisted with concern and pure shock.

"Where does it hurt?" he asked me. "My...bruises...they're burning." I choked out. That was all I needed to say when that look of determination flared in his eyes. He got up and looked at Leah.

"Go to the office and tell them that I'm taking her home. Tell them that it's an emergency. Go!"

"What the hell am I suppose to say? I can't just walk in there saying 'oh good afternoon my best friend is in excruciating pain and has grown fangs so we need to take her home so we can figure out what the fuck is going on with her'!" she screamed.

"I don't have time for this! Tell them she's having an allergic reaction and I needed to get her home so she can take her medication." With that she nodded and ran out.

"Wait!" Jake screamed and Leah stopped dead in her tracks. Jake gathered me up in his arms and stood up.

"Open the door so I can get her out." She did that and Jake carried me out into the hallway. I was faintly aware of people looking at us as we passed. I was sweating and tears were streaming down my face. I was gasping for breath and my body felt like it was going to explode. I started drifting in and out of consciousness and the last thing I remember is Jake's voice saying, "Stay with me." after that I just blacked out.
