I had no idea how we got away from Adrian but we did. He'll probably be really pissed but I didn't care. We were laughing as we ducked branches and climbed over rocks. Damon was cracking jokes and I just laughed along to them. It felt nice to just do what normal teens would do: sneak away from the crowd just to have some alone fun time. At one point Damon managed to get a picnic basket delivered to us while we walked by one of his pack members. "You planned this didn't you?" I asked him with an accusing voice.

He perfected a hurt look, "I, Miss Avita, most certainly did not plan this. What I did plan though was an evening picnic before the night tasks but I had to push it up when my girl of choice wanted to get away." He said with a small smile.

I laughed at him, "You are too cute, do you know that?" I asked and he stopped walking. I turned back to him and gave him a confused look. He shook his head

"Cute? That's the word you use to describe me?" he asked shocked but I just shrugged.

"What you're doing now is cute and you had this cute little smile on your face." I explained but he still had a blank face. That smile was long gone.

His expression changed though...to cocky. "I am many things but 'cute' is not one of them." I nodded, rolled my eyes and carried on walking. Breathing a sigh of relief when I heard him walking. I was deep in thought when a thought struck me, "I was just thinking...you're probably a really possessive guy when it comes to your girl, have a short temper, have many infuriating things about you but here's the thing; if you're my first mate then that means that you're my overly possessive, short-tempered, impossibly infuriating mate. And quite frankly...I couldn't have asked for anything better." With that I carried on walking until I reached a clearing where every single type of flower there is was in bloom and colors were everywhere.

"Wow." I said in an awed voice.

I closed my eyes and breathed in the scent of the flora. It was like all my worries and regrets melted away and the sense of security and peace replaced it. It felt amazing. "This place is now my favorite. I can just feel the peace rolling off this place in waves." I said and continued to take deep breathes with my eyes closed. I only snapped out of my haze when the smell of calamari filled my nostrils. My eyes snapped opened and locked on Damon who sat on a checked blanket covered with food. He looked at me with shining eyes.

"You wanna eat?" Damon asked and I practically skipped towards him. He laughed as I plopped down and gazed at the variety of sea food in front of me. "Calamari, shrimp, hake, prawns. You really outdid yourself, Damon." I said wonderstruck as I gazed at him. His grey eyes locked onto mine and a genuine smile was placed on his face. Just for me alone to see.

"And sushi." He said and I squealed as he pulled not one, not two, but three clear boxes filled with sushi of all kinds. "I swear you know my food better than any other guy. I would say anyone but Leah is the only other person who knows it. Not even Jake knows my food that well and he's my brother."

"Because you two are so alike that what you eat is exactly the same?" he asked referring to Leah and I nodded. "Well, that means that I'll be looking for differences between the two of you so that what I surprise you with won't be stolen by Leah." That comment rewarded him with a punch to the arm. And a very hard punch at that.

"Ouch!" he said and rubbed his arm. The look on his face was priceless and I did what I could think of at that moment...laugh.

Once I composed myself and Damon resumed his gentlemanly manner, we ate. We ate as we talked about everything. And when I say 'everything' I mean every single secret between the two of us was told. The sad stories to the happy times. From heartbreaks to getting back onto our feet again. I even talked about my relationship with Brian and was surprised when Damon actually remained still and commented here and there to cheer me up. He talked about his girls and I was really shocked to hear that he was still a virgin. I felt bad when I called him on it and he responded by asking me if I thought that low of him. I mentioned the whole Adrian learning from his ex-girlfriend situation but he gave ma a stern look and said I was just trying to get a rise out of me. He'd felt the pull and wanted to do anything to get me to kiss him. Even if I was angry at him. I threw him with a piece of food then which he smoothly dodged.
