The bell signaling the end of the day rang and I groaned internally. Time to go to the hell hole and fetch my belongings. As promised, Derek was outside my classroom waiting for me with his bag slung over his shoulder. He looked hot!

"Hey. Ready to go?" he asked and I nodded not trusting my voice. He took a hold of my hand as we walked to his black and white Lamborghini Gallardo.

"Dude, I still can't get over you owning one of these. This car is like one of my top cars. It might not be any BMW i8 but it's definitely a close second. Well, to me it is." He laughed and my breath hitched a bit.

"Yeah, I kind of figured that out the first couple of days I met you. What I can't believe is that you failed to notice it until now when it was always here in the parking lot."

"Hey! There are a lot of cars here and I didn't because I've always kept my head down. Nobody really wants to glance at a girl that's not like everybody else." I meant for it to come out as a joke but I couldn't keep the sadness out of my voice.

"And to top it off, I feel like I'm about to explode into a billion pieces. There's, like, something inside of me that's begging to come out but it's trapped. Something big, something...powerful." I whispered the last part because I drifted of into my deep thoughts but Derek's arms around me snapped me out of it.

I have no idea when he came over to me but I really needed the comfort right now. I pulled him closer and breathed in his scent. I could pick out his wolf's unique scent: plants and wood. To humans it might smell bad or normal but to a wolf, especially a female it's really luring.

"What you don't realize is that you are really special and I'm not just saying that to comfort you, I mean it. If you didn't have your blue and grey eyes and beautiful brown hair it wouldn't have been you. You have so many qualities that a million girls couldn't get even if Hell freezed over right this second. If you asked me; I wouldn't change a thing because you're perfect." He said as he buried his head into my hair and I smiled hugging him harder. He hugged me harder too.

"Uh...Derek...can't...breath. Please let go of...me." I wheezed out and he let me go, laughing.

"Sorry, sometimes I don't know my own strength. Come on. We've gotta get your things. And fast." He said and I nodded.

The drive to my house was quiet except for the times when Derek comforted me, telling me that he'll be there to protect me. I knew there was a double meaning to it but I'm pretty sure when he finds his mate I'll be forgotten. The thought made me sad but I know that I'll still be there for him no matter what. With that positive thought we continued the drive. 10 minutes later we pulled into the driveway and I started hyperventilating. There standing in the driveway was my father's car. Derek stiffened beside me and swallowed.

"I'll be with you all the time. Come on." We got out the car and walked up the steps onto the front porch. I turned the handle and found the door locked. Oh no, this is bad. I took a step back and pressed against Derek. He was so tense that the car keys fell to the ground. As he bent to pick it up the door swung open and Jason stepped out and kicked Derek, sending him flying. Shit! How the hell did he do that? Please don't let him be a werewolf too. I thought, panicking. I quickly scented him and all I got back was human. Guess he caught Derek in an off moment. A wicked smile spread across his face as he grabbed me by the arm and yanked me inside the house, locking the door behind him.

"Derek!" I screamed and he punched me across the face. I fell to the floor holding my cheek. Pain was shooting in all directions in that area and I sucked in a breath.

"Shut up, bitch! Where were you for the past few days? I've been trying to get a hold of you and you haven't returned my calls." He yelled and I flinched as his evil smile went turned into a disgusted frown. I started shaking. He had that I'm-going-to-beat-the-hell-out-of-you-till-you-can't-see-and-breath-right look on his face. I screamed again and he kicked me in my side. I heard a bone crack and winced as pain shot through my body.
