Adrian and I met up with the rest of the group at our now permanent table. Everyone had all of their plates stacked high with food. Even me.

"So, Avita..." Seth asked from across the table opposite me, "how are you fairing with everything that's happened?"

I shrugged and finished the food I had in my mouth.

"I'm not entirely sure if I can identify what exactly I'm feeling. Everything has been such a blur for me. If I look back and think about all that has happened...I have come to realize something." everybody at the table stopped eatign and looked at me.

"And what would that be, Avita?" Seth asked with a curious look on his face.

I smiled. "I am one weird ass chick." everybody started laughing with me. We chatted with each other about pointless topics. All the way through Damon had some part of him touching me at all times. Whether it was his hand or leg; there was always a feeling of him touching me . I didnt mind. I was enjoying the feeling of finally having my mate claim me as his. One thing I was greatful for is that Damon had a kind heart. How do I know this? Well, aside from a few things, Damon was keeping the PDA down to an almost invisble level for Adrian's sake.

Adrian was actually smiling and laughing along with everyone. Sticking to his promise he was teasing Damon and I a lot. He sat on the other side of me. Bumping his shoulder into mine now and then keeping things between us normal. It was then that I  knew that he was going to be okay. He's a strong man. And wolf. I just hoped that one day soon he'd find his mate. That's the only thing I could do. Hope. I knew I would have to fight the temptations of trying to set him up with countless women but it's because Icare for him that I'd let him figure out his mate situtation. If he needs my help I will be there.

"Avita." Kyrah called from across the table. Her voice was dangerous.

I looed around at everybody and they were watching Damon who was glaring and growling at someone in the treeline just behind our table.

"Er, guys... What's going on?"

"Avita, I need you to listen to me, okay?" Damon spoke slowly and grabbed my hand. My heart started pounding in my chest and that feeling of something bad was about to happen set in my stomach.

"Damon..."

"When I tell you to run, you run, got it? Run to your parents." The guys where getting up and moving into positions that protected me.

"Why?" I asked. Just as Damon turned to answer a voice I hoped I would never hear again hushed the morning chatter.

"Good morning all! Tell me. Im looking for my darling Avita. Where is she?" simutaneously everyone turned and pointed to me and my merry little group of growling wolves.

"Oh no." I swallowed and hid behind Damon."

"Ah, there she is. Avita, aren't you going to come over and hug me." he spread his arms out waiting. I looked at how the other people were seeing this. The girls were looking at him with that determined look to get his attention and the guys wre glaring at them because the girls were ignoring them. And then you get us. The weird group standing in a threatening position, glaring at the new comer.

I looked at him. His green eyes were sparkling. If there was one thing that I knew I could never mistake in Brian was the certain looks and glimmers he gets in his eyes. And right now they were telling me that he was up to something.

Strange scents flitted across me and I knew the would be too faint for the others too pick up. My senses were a lot more heightened than theirs so I could smell things stronger than they could. I breathed in deeply and closed my eyes. The scents were coming in from all directions. There was something else. I scented again and I couldn't identify it. But I heard something. Something metallic clicking. A gun. Oh no, we were surrounded.

"Damon, stop. This will end badly. Trust me. Let me go to him." Damon whipped around so fast a barely registered him grabbing me and shaking me.

"Are you mad?" he asked shocked. "I'm not letting you near him!" his eyes wre black and his breathing went short and sharp meaning his was fighting from letting his wolf come out.

"He has us surrounded, Damon. With guns. If I go he won't hurt-"

"How do you know that?" he was starting to panic. An alpha panickiung about his mate never ends well.

"Because he knows me. He knows that if he does anything to harm the people I love it will ruin any chances of him gaining my trust. His mindset is either he had me or no one else does. That's what the guns are for. So, I'm telling you right now, let me go." I pleaded and hugged him.

When I pulled back I had tears running down my face. "Let. me. go." I whispered. I started walking backwards towards Brian. Damon stepped forward and I shook my head.

"No, you stay here and devise a plan. I'm connected to you, Damon. Use it to find me. Find the one thing that fully connects us and find me." with that I turned and walked up to Brian.

"Ah, wise choice. How's my little girl doing?" he asked as he embraced me. I kept my hands at my sides.

"Let's just go, Brian. I can't stand still for long. You know how fidgety I get."

He laughed and the sound made me slightly nauseas.

"Very well then. Anything you'd like to get? I can get you new things if need be." he spoke as if nothing had changed. He slung his arm on my shoulders and we started walking towards the parking lot.

"I'm always up for new things." I forced a smiled and he chuckled.

"That's my girl. Tell me. Why were you hanging out with a bunch of dogs?" I laughed. He didn't know about my family and me being a royal. I don't think he knew how that I was a wolf anyway. I scented myself and smiled. My wolf was protecting me by making me smell a part of nature.

"They're my friends. And if any harm comes to them by anyone or anything, important or no, I will personally hunt the responsible down and kill them. Am I understood?" Brian laughed.

"Yeah yeah whatever." I ripped out of his grasp and stood firm.

"I mean it, Brian. I'm not the same girl I was years ago. I'm not weak." I fought to keep the growl from escaping my lips. He sighed and walked up to me. Hugging me he said, "I promise nothing will happen to them as long as you remain by my side." I nodded into his jacket.

"I promise." with that we walked until we came to a black SUV.

"Time to go to your new home. You're not afraid of heights are you?"

Thank you for reading this book. I know it was rushed but I needed to find a way to focus on only a couple things lihe what's going to happen to Avita and the gang. This also allows me to set a new scene easily.

The next book will be better and much more detailed to grip you.

The Warrior inside is the title.
