My sleep was over too fast and when Leah and I woke up we were still dizzy from the rush..... Damn, remember not to eat the rush sweets again. I feel like I just got beaten and a truck had driven over me... five times! I mentally grumbled as I held my aching head in my hands.

"Seems like we feel the same way." Leah said as she failed to get out of bed without tripping over her feet. I would've laughed but it felt like too much effort so I left it. One question kept popping into my mind so I just decided to get it out.

"Leah, are you and your family werewolves?" I said and her eyes bugged out. She didn't think that I would put two and two together, I realized.

"How the--who the--but--I--I didn't--huh?" she stuttered out and kept opening and closing her mouth. It was getting very annoying.

"Stop doing that and close your mouth. You're gonna catch flies and with your morning breath it's definitely possible. Just tell me the truth, are you?"

After a few moments she nodded and sighed. "Who told you?" I shrugged.

"No one, I figured it out by myself although I'm a little confused." She looked at me funny and I explained.

"You know Derek and I have been studying everything and right now I feel like a walking encyclopedia but he's taught me how to identify who's a wolf and who's not. I know Adrian's friends are not but Adrian on the other hand has his unique wolf scent and he emits a strong sense of power off of him. That alone tells me two things, one: he's a wolf and two: he's either and alpha or beta or hell! Even a third in command. HELP!" It took a while before the words settled in but she answered me anyway.

"Yeah, I know. And yes Adrian is a wolf and so is my family. That sense of power that your feeling is because he's a beta just like daddy. Wolves are allowed to mingle with humans because we are too. It's not bad to do that... In fact it's actually recommended that we do. Since you can figure out who's who in school just to give you a head's up, they're all a part of Adrian's pack. Well...his best friend's but you get the point. Anyway... Derek is the third in command but you don't see him talking to Adrian because the alpha usually talks to him first." I nodded the throughout her explanation but I still have more questions to ask.

"Let's get done while we talk or we're gonna be late and since it's the last day of the semester let's make it count." I suggested and she nodded. We got ready while I fired questions at her.

"So...Leah, how come I don't feel any power radiating from you and, oh this is my favourite question, how come every time I mention or you see Derek during last night that you get this far away look and your eyes fill with this love and admiration and your heat like beats over time. All this happened just last night?" My questions made her drop her shoes and her head snapped towards me so fast that I'm pretty shocked that she didn't get whiplash.

"What?" I asked feeling a little afraid as she just stared at me. Finally she looked down at her oh so interesting feet (note sarcasm) and looked shy for some reason.

"I haven't....tapped into my...abilities or powers...yet." Her explanation confused me.

"What do you mean you haven't tapped into you abilities or powers yet?"

"I...err...uhm...I-I haven't really...uhm..." she stumbled as she avoided looking at me. That frustrated me and that wasn't helping my head.

"Leah, would you just look at me and tell what the hell is wrong! I am your best friend no matter what I am going to stick with you like I've done for all these years like you did me, so don't you dare hold out on me now!" I shouted at her and her eyes blazed.

"You wanna know what the hells going on? Alright, I'll tell you... I can't shift! And because of that my 'power' cannot come off of me! There, you happy now? Go throw a pity party." She screamed back at me and I just stared at her.
