"Beth?"

I entered Beth's cell to find her sprawled out across her bed, a book, one that I'd never heard of, was clutched in her hands. At the sight of me she immediately dropped her book and stood to her feet.

"Lydia! Hey!"

"Hey Beth." I smiled, "So... why'd you ask me to come here?"

"There's not many girls our age around the prison, actually I think we're the only two." She chuckled, "So I thought we could get to know each other some more."

"Okay then, how old are you Beth?" I said as I sat down on her bed

"Seventeen."

"Wow, I was not expecting that."

"I know, I know, I look younger right?" She smiled, "What about you? You're sixteen aren't ya?"

"I might be fifteen I think... I guess it depends what the date is now."

"I thought you were older than Carl?"

"No, I'm exactly two weeks younger."

"That means your birthday is today! Happy sixteenth Lydia!" She pulled me into a tight hug

"I had no idea... How do you know?"

"Well somebody's gotta keep track of the days." She motioned over to the calendar that hung from the wall.

"I guess so." I beamed

"Hold on a second..." she paused, "Did you hear that?"

"No?"

Suddenly the sound of screaming could be heard from somewhere outside of the prison, I winced at the sound.

"Grab your gun from your cell, quick!" she whispered rushing me out as she picked up her bat...

I ran to my cell with Beth hot on my trail, I hastily reloaded my gun and ran back to where she stood outside my cell door.

"Ready?" she questioned

"Ready."

"Everyone get out here!" Daryl's called out amongst the sound of automatic gunfire

Beth and I followed the sound of Daryl's voice out into the centre of the prison, where the majority of the large group stood, each and every single person looked undeniably terrified.

"Someone in this prison has been feeding walkers dead animals! Large dead animals!"

Before Daryl could continue on with his angry speech, Rick rushed into the room.

"Everybody outside! Now! They've broke the fences, we need to shoot them down!"

He unlocked the door and we all rushed outside, shooting as many walkers as possible.

I could see in the corner of my eye Beth and Hershel fleeing into the cage, but a walker grabbed Hershel's one leg that wasn't prosthetic. He tried his hardest to shake the creature off but it was no use and so before he could be bitten for a second time, I hastily ran towards the old man and shot the walker in the head allowing both of the Greene's to get inside the cage.

I continued to shoot until blood spattered across my face and Carol's broken screams filled the air.

At the mere sound of her scream, I spun on my heel and raised my gun, ready to take out whatever was endangering Carol's life, but instead I was shocked at the sight before me. T-dog stood only feet away, his eyes never leaving mine as blood spurted from the bite mark in between his neck and shoulder. In that moment I screamed the exact way Carol did.
