After Reginas last class it was already 4.15pm. The brunette locked her classroom and went towards her car. As she closed the door behind her all the tears she held back streamed down her face. A big sob escaped her throat and she took out her phone.
No messages.
She should have never thought about touching the blond! It should have been completely Emmas idea! And why did she even start with that idiotic teacher acting on the phone?!
She turned the key and heart the engine running. Regina took one deep breath before her foot pushed down the gas pedal.
The whole way home was blurred and she knew it was too dangerous to drive like this but her mind turned off as her tears started to stream down.
Luckily, she arrived safely and entered the house. She smelled the familiar warm air of her home and Some more tears streamed down her face.
Home.
It didn't feel the same without Emma anymore.
Regina wasn't hungry so she went upstairs to her room and lay down into her bed. She hugged herself as a new wave of tears and sobbing washed over her.
She tried to sleep all night but as the sun rose the brunette still hugged her sobbing self. She couldn't sleep a minute.
Her alarm clock rang and Regina slowly stood up. A terrible headache appeared and she had to sit down again. After a minute she stood up and went into the bathroom.
What she saw in the mirror filled her eyes with tears again. Her mascara was all over her face, she had big eye bags and her hair was messy and didn't shine.
The brunet removed her makeup and put on some new one, focusing on letting the dark circles under her eyes disappear, then she brushed her hair and checked herself in the mirror again. Her hair still looked terrible so she decided to put it up into a pony tail. She couldn't even remember the last time she made a bun or pony tail. Normally her hair was always loose.
She than took some black pants, a gray shirt and a black vest.
She went out the house with a still throbbing head. She already took some pills but it didn't help.
The wooden door of Reginas classroom was closed as she stood infront of it. After she closed her eyes for a second and took a deep breath, she unlocked it and went inside.
She had to talk to Emma so she wrote a little letter.
Emma, Please come here after your last class.
-R
She put the sheet of paper on Emmas desk and sat down as the first few students entered the classroom.
Every time the door opened she looked at the people entering but no Emma appeared. As Ruby and Belle entered the classroom without Emma, she lost all hope. Where was Emma?
As the bell rung Emma was still nowhere to be seen. The lesson went by and Emma didn't come. Maybe it was better that way. Maybe it would have been too hard to see the blonds face.
As her last class was over she still hadn't heard anything from the blond. She drove home and lay down in her bed. She took out her phone and clicked on her photos.
The first one was one of the beautiful blond. She was sitting at the dinner table and made her homework during Regina cooked. The brunet found it so adorable how the blond chewed on her pencil when she didn't understand something so she made a picture.
The memory brought back new tears and she looked at the next photo.
Emma asleep on her couch after a long movie night. Her hair was messy but her face had a relaxed expression. She looked beautiful.
A few photos and tons of tears later Regina couldn't handle it anymore. She wiped her tears away and went out of the house into her car.
She drove through the dark night till she stopped infront of the blonds' house.
7.42pm
R: Emma, I am infront of your house. Please come outside.
A few minutes went by but no Emma came. Regina opened the door of the car and went towards the door as it suddenly opened.
Emma came out of the house and brown eyes met green ones.
"Emma..." was the only thing Regina could whisper.
"What are you doing here?" Emma asked harsh. Regina was taken aback by Emmas tone but managed to say something.
"Emma, listen I am sorry. I am not going to touch you ever again. I am sorry if I pushed you too much. Why didn't you tell me to stop? Please give me another chance. I miss you, Emma. There is no other girl! I was talking about you!" A single tear rolled down Reginas cheek and Emmas eyes filled with some too.
"Please go." Was the only thing Emma managed to say. She hated to see the brunet so sad but it was the best for her.
"Emma. Please give me another chance. I can change. Please." Regina said in only a whisper.
"I can't. Please don't make it that hard." Emma just said coldly as she wiped her tears away.
"You are the best thing that ever happened to me. Please don't let it end like that. I miss you, Emma." Regina pleaded.
"I miss you too but..." Emma trailed off as she wiped another tear away.
"But what Emma?! What did I do wrong? Just tell me. We can get trough it!" Regina couldn't understand what was going on. Why couldn't they just be happy?
Emma lost all her temper and shouted at Regina:" WHY CAN'T YOU UNDERSTAND?! IT'S FOR THE BEST!" And then a sob made it's way out her mouth and she whispered: "I can't destroy your life. You deserve someone better."
Regina was confused as she heard Emmas words. What did she mean with destroying her life?
"Emma what are you talking about? You don't destroy my life!"
Emmas expression softened and Regina could see how the girl let her walls down and became vulnerable again.
"You... You deserve someone better than me. I can't give you much. You need someone who can satisfy you and sooner or later you would have found out anyway. I just didn't... want to waste your time. I wanted it to be my decision. I am sorry but you have to go now."
Regina couldn't believe what she just heard.
"Emma... What are you talking about? You are the best thing that ever happened to me! Don't ever think any different! What made you think you would waste my time?!" Regina asked completely taken aback.
No one said another word for what seemed like hours but then Regina took a deep breath and said something that made Emmas heart stop for at least a minute.
"I love you, Emma Swan."
