Rubys class ended an hour before Emmas did. She slowly made her way to Miss Mills classroom and took a deep breath, hopeing the brunet calmed down a little and wouldn't snap at her again.

Ruby slowly opened the door and quietly said:" Hello Miss Mills."

"Miss Lucas" Regina just said strictly "Sit down"

Ruby rushed over to the last row and sat down.

"There are numbers from the book on the board. I want you to do them and hand it in when the lesson is over."

Ruby did what she was told and was done after half an hour. She looked around the class a few minutes but got bored right away. She decided to apologize for her behavior so she said:" I am sorry, Miss Mills."

Miss Mills looked up from her work and snaped:" Your behavior was very inappropriate! You should really start thinking before you talk!"

Ruby looked down and said:" Yeah... I know. I am sorry. I was just curious about you and Emma." She tried to defend herself.

"I accept your apologies but it was really inappropriate! What happened between me and Emma is none of your concerns! Emma can tell you what ever she wants to but you shouldn't talk to your teacher like that!" She said harshly.

Ruby just nodded. She didn't know what to say.

"And you should really stop writing those letters. I already saw you more than twice passing some to Emma. It is one thing to distract yourself in my classes but another to distract someone else! You maybe think you don't need this classes but Emma does need them! You should start thinking more about her!" Regina continued before the bell saved Ruby.

She took her bag and rushed out the room. As she opened the door Emma came in.

"Good luck with her, Em!" She whispered to Emma before the door closed.

After Emmas class was over she went to detetion. As she opened the door Ruby rushed out and whispered:" Good luck with her, Em!" before the door closed.

Emmas heart began to beat faster. She didn't want Regina to be mad at her.

The blond looked shyly at her girlfriend before she sat down in the spot she sat the first time during detention. In the first row but as far away as possible.

For a short moment Emma thought she saw an amused smile on her teachers face but it was gone as soon as it came. Maybe she just imagined it.

Emma sat there for a few minutes before she decided to make fun out of the situation. Maybe it would work.

"What did you do with Ruby? She seemed pretty shocked as she left the room." Emma giggled nervously.

Regina looked up from her stack of papers for a short period of time and shot her a firm look before she said:" Emma, this is not funny! You can't just do whatever you want in my classes! I can't explain everything we learned in our tutoring lessons. You have to pay attention!"

Emma played with her hair nervously. She felt like a little girl again which got yelled at because she got a bad mark or didn't do her chores.

"I am sorry." Emma said in not more than a whisper, her eyes fixed on the desk infront of her.

"Oh I know you are, dear. I hope, me reading it out loud was a lesson for you." Regina said still strict and added softer:" I want you to solve those pages in the book." She pointed at the board and continued:" Don't hesitate to ask if you don't understand something and hand it in when you are done."

Emma nodded and opened the book.

She solved nearly everything without help. It took some time but after an hour she did everything but the last number. The bell rang and she looked at her teacher unsure if she should continue. Regina looked up and Emma shot her a pleading look.

Regina just slightly shook her head no so Emma continued. She read though the instruction again and thought about how it could work. After nearly 10 minutes she realized she couldn't do it alone so she shyly cleared her throat and said:" Um... Regina? Could you... Um... help me? Please?"

Regina stood up and sat down next to her. "Lets see..." She said to herself as she read through the instruction. Emma looked at her and smiled. She was really adorable when she was so concentrated.

"Oh, well that's easy." Regina said and smiled encouragingly at Emma.

"Every teacher says that! I mean, you studied that shit for what? Four years?" Emma said slightly frustrated.

"Three years" Regina smriked "Could you please listen to me now?"

Emma just nodded and Regina started to explain. When she was done, Emma understood everything.

"Well done." The brunet praised her and began to soften her voice and expression. Even Emma noticed that and started to relax.

After a short pause, in which both just looked at each other, Regina said:" So... I found out that your birthday is on Friday."

Emmas eyes widened. "You... My... What?!" Emma said obvious confused. No one ever remembered her birthday.

"Your birthday, dear." Regina giggled.

"Yes..." Emma just whispered. She looked at her hands and her thoughts went back to her last birthday with her real parents. It was October 22, her 4th birthday, and pretty cold outside. But her parents didn't care. They went outside and went for a walk with her. It was one of Emmas favorite things to do. When they came home, Emma opened the door and all her friends were in the house. She got a lot of presents and a big cake with her name on it. She smiled a little at the memory.

"I thought we could do something together. I mean, if you don't do something with your parents." Regina said softly.

Emma shrugged at the word 'parents' but realized soon enough that she talked about Mary Magaret and David.

"I... Umm... I don't know. I have to ask them." Emma said quietly. She really wasn't used to conversations like that. No one ever knew her birthday, let alone invited her celebrate it.

Regina smiled at Emma and said:" Ok. Tell me tomorrow?"

Emma just nodded.
