softball, track and volleyball were a lot more fun for me than cheerleading. but i have to make tham think i am really part of the team and that i love it, because if they believe it.. derek will.

i am currently at volleyball. thinking of derek made me fanticise of the ball being his head and i just hit it that much harder.

"daaayyyuuuummmm giirrrlll!!!" Ari says. "how come you never played on the team with me before?"

"because i wasn't signed up against my will before"

"wha?"

"nevermind" i wave her off and walk to the locker room.

on my way i run into a guy that i've known since elementary school, and to admit it.. i used to have a huuuuugggggeeee cruch on him in middle school. and can't i just say.. he's gotten SO MUCH HOTTER!!

"hey layla" he says in a husky voice.

"hey sean" i fight back the smile threatning to show from the excitment of him talking to me.

"i saw you playing" he smirks as he looks over my body.

i had the team uniform on. dark purple t-shirt with our school logo and the number 17 (my lucky number), black spandex shorts, knee-high white volleyball socks with two black stripes at the top and white gym shoes.

"and..?"

"you're really good" he says, still eyeing the tight spandex on my lower region.

"that's great!" i say sarcastically. walking away, making sure to sway my hips. i push the girl's locker room door open, but i look back before going in. "oh and sean"

"yeah?"

"my eyes are up here" i walk into the locker room and to my locker. i strip my jersey off and put on my black cross tank top from forever 21. taking my long volleyball socks off and putting on no-show socks i slip on my white vans and then stuff everything else in my locker, leaving my spandex shorts on. i'm too lazy to change them for my jean shorts.. and they're comfy anyways.

slinging my bag over my shoulder i walk out of the locker room to see sean still standing there.

okay, dude. you may be hot.. but i don't like you anymore. take a hint!

"can i give you a ride home?" he licks his lips.

"i think not" i shake my head and walk past him.

he follows me and stops me, pinning me against a wall. "come on layla. i know you want me. you have ever since 7th grade" he licks his lips again.

"that was in the past. as in not anymore"

"but you did"

"can you not take a hint?"

"of course i can. and all signs are pointing to you still having your little school girl crush on me"

"think again" i push him off me and strut my way to the parking lot, perfectly aware of him following me.

i spot derek's truck and mentally sigh. i usually walk home.. but with sean following me and not being able to take a hint, i'd much rather be stuck with derek.

i walk over to his truck and see him get out with a smile on his face. he jogs over to me and i plaster the fakest smile on my face.. but some how making it look real.

he wraps his arms around me and pulls me to his chest. i hug him back and he burries his head in my hair. "i missed you" he says.

"you said that earlier"

"and it's still true" he pulls away. "your father still won't allow me to go to school because he doesn't want me seeing you"

"and where does he think you are right now?"

"at the store.." he sighs. "oh and remind me to pick up some milk on my way back"

i laugh. "you got it chief"

he smiles and looks behind me. his smile fades and he looks angry. "who's that?" he asks.

i turn around to see sean glaring at derek. "oh, that's sean"

"is he bothering you?"

i say "yes" at the same time sean says "no"

"stay away from her" derek says.

"or what?" he winks at me.

i tense and fight the urge to tackle him to the floor and punch his face in. "calm" derek whispers in my ear.

"don't know if i can. that douch won't leave me alone" i whisper back harshly.

"seriously. stay away from her. i'm not going to say it again" derek says, wrapping his arm around my waist and guiding me to the passenger side of his truck. he opens the door for me and i climb up.

i can feel him staring at my ass and i purposely shake it a little. i hear a small grunt of approval from him and i smirk, sitting down. hey! don't judge that ass shake! if i'm going to break him i need to build him up and i have to go all out.

he closes the door and walks over to sean. i can't hear what they're saying but i'm guessing it's not good.. considering sean threw a punch but derek dodged it and punched him square in the jaw.

sean tumbled over holding his jaw. i can see derek's strained face and he turns to me, showing his glowing eyes.

i quickly open the door and run over to him, jumping into his open arms. he burries his face in my neck and breaths in deeply.

"seriously!?" sean yells. "come on layla! he just freaking punched me and you're throwing yourself on him? i thought you were better than that" he shakes his head and gets up, walking off.

ignoring his comment, i feel derek slightly nibble at the skin on my neck. i push him away and glare at him. "what are you doing?"

"i was- umm.. --uhh.. i'm sorry babe. i-uhh.. i'm sorry"

"explain" i tap my foot on the ground.

he scratched the back of his neck. "since i found you.. my hormones have been going crazy.."

i burst out laughing.

"don't laugh! you should be getting it too!"

"well i'm not, sorry to burst that bubble" i say still laughing.

"can i mark you?" he blurts out.

"excuse me?"

"you know.. i'm supposed to mark you.. since you're my mate and all.."

i shake my head. "i don't think so"

"but i have to!"

"not now you don't"

"well i'll have to do it eventually"

"we'll see about that" i storm to his truck, grabbing my bag and strutting out of the parking lot, walking my normal route to the pack house.

"no, layla wait!"

i hear him start his truck and fasten the strap on my bag, making it hug my shoulder before i sprint towards the woods. because he can't drive his truck in the woods. if he's going to chase me..this is going to happen on foot.
