my hair flows around me like a dusty brown harmless jellyfish. the water causing it to move in a slow motion manner around just face, being the last thing I see before I squeeze my eyes shut and relax my body letting it float upwards.

some point in my journey to the surface of the foggy green water, my body shifts and my have is left down in the water.

my muscles not strong enough, from the impact of the water, to lift my head and take a deeply needed breath of oxygen that is not supplied in the cold water stinging my body.

I am strong enough though to open my eyes, and when I do.. all I see is blood.

blood surrounding me.

flowing like a melted snow cone, looking like stretched cotton candy.

where is it coming from?

I am so desperate for a breath, I try as hard as I can to flip my body over.

I try and twist my legs and swing my arms. but they don't budge.

my lungs are shrivelling up like raisins inside my rib cage, the bent bones poking at it.

I try one last time to turn my body ariund

..

still nothing.

giving up, I slowly let my eyes drift closed and let my brain ease it's way into paradise. a place where there is no thinking, and dying is only a nightmare.

ready for my perish.. seconds away from being completely gone from earth and flew up to heaven, leaving my bloody corpse behind to get ready for a new life through reincarnation.

get ready.

countdown..

i am yanked up and out of the water and my face finally gets that fresh air it wanted.. but my mouth won't open for me to inhale it and fill my lungs with the lifesaving gas.

i feel the drag of water pulling on my wet clothes clinging to my body as i am pulled through the water until i feel the grainy crystals of sand on my fingertips and bare arms.

a deep pressure pushes on my chest. i feel the tightness ease up a little and it's not as rough and dry in my lungs.

the pressure lifts, then presses down again.. this time harder.

just a little more..

my eyes jolt open and my body jerks up, automatically coughing all the water out and gasping for air. releived to have oxygen supply in my lungs again, i breath a sigh of relief.. my breathing is still ragid, but relieved.

i look over to see derek looking at me with wide eyes. his hand moves closer to me until it lands on my back and he rubs it soothingly.

i weakly smile at him and put a hand on my chest as i cough more.

"we made it" i smiles, my voice cracking.

he nodded and looked behind us, his eyes leading up to the top of the cliff. he let out a small chuckle. "yeah" he looked back at me with a small smile. "yeah, we did"

~~~~~
"so what did you do?" Jay's eyebrows etch together and his eyes fill with worry but i can tell he's intrigued.
