"So he got into a fight with some boys that were bullying his sister and now you're bringing medical creme for his nose because he bruised it?" Amanda asked on our way to school.

"Yeah, what's so bad about that?" I asked.

"Wyatt," she sighed. "Sometimes I just think you care too much. You've known the day for all of three days. Today will make four days."

"So? I can't help it! He's hurt and I feel the need to help him! What's so wrong about that!?"

"Nothing, it just shows that you care. Maybe a little too much, but you care either way. Are you sure you don't like him just a little bit?"

"Amanda," I pleaded.

"Okay, fine, I'll stop. For now at least! But I'm sure as hell going to tease you Saturday night. After you spill all of the details of your "date" to me," she laughed.

Deciding to ignore the ignorance, I rubbed my temples and walked ahead into school.

Homeroom was boring as always, the only thing I need to be attentive for were the announcements, Pledge of Allegiance, Moment of Silence, and the roll call. The list seems long, but in reality, it wasn't. We were done with five minutes to spare. The reason why it didn't take so long was probably because we didn't have that many announcements this morning.

Regardless, I spent the rest of Homeroom texting Aryan and laying on Amanda's shoulder and having light conversation with her.

Now the moment I have been waiting for has finally arrived. I sped into Science class and took my seat next to Aryan without haste.

Before I could get a chance to say anything, Aryan whipped his head around at me, fully exposing his nose.

"Did you break your nose?" I asked.

He shook his head and smiled, "It's not broken, just bruised and sore. You should see the other guys." His joking tone reassured me a little. I was worried about him.

I smiled and pushed my glasses to the middle of my eyes and settled more into my seat before asking my next question. "Did you get into trouble? I never got a chance to ask last night."

"My dad was mad, but then he eventually understood after a few tears from my sister and my mom sticking up for me," he answered.

Before I had the chance to give him the creme right then because the science teacher walked in and the 1st official bell rung. I was disappointed I didn't get a chance to talk more since all of our time was consumed while working on a worksheet.

I did; however, get the opportunity to slide the creme over to Aryan before he got up to leave for his next class. I didn't get to see his response as I was submerged in the sea full of students.

Before I knew it, the school day had ended, and I was currently in line to get onto the bus that will take me to Jay's house. The younger boy was in front of me and was constantly turning around to check on me through his call with his boyfriend.

"I'm okay, Asher. You don't have to keep checking on me. I've ridden a bus before." I chided.

"Okay! Okay! I was just trying to make sure you were alright. Gosh!" he called out before he returned to his phone call with his boyfriend.
