Hi Bella! So My Five Reasons is very interesting. You have some really good ideas for this book, that much is apparent. This book was uncharacteristically sad though, something I wasn’t expecting after the summary you gave me.
In all honesty, I’m really not a fan of your cover. It doesn’t communicate any of the features of your book at all. The light pink and purple are incredibly deceiving. I, personally, don’t think it fits your book, but it serves its purpose.
When it comes to grammar, I think you have severe work to do Bella. There are lots of typos throughout the first eight chapters, which, while not hindering the reading, take away from the atmosphere of the book. Verb tenses, capitalization, and apostrophes seem to get you most of the time, but there are quite a few sentence structure issues involving commas and spacing. It’d be extremely beneficial for you to do a major editing for your book.
The plot of your story is very rushed. I felt like the story was progressing at an unnatural rate with a huge lack of detail. I found that you skipped over lots of little things, focusing instead on describing Bella’s sadness and feelings. While these things are very important, it bores the reader when you repeat these thing every chapter. We are aware of her situation, and if you want to talk about it again, try using more descriptive words or flashbacks. Your story is original though and the plot offers itself to full usage, great job with that!
Your story is balanced, hence the rating. It offers a lot of potential but your errors and lack of description brings the interest down. I hope that you take my opinions into consideration. Major editing will definitely help out your story. Keep writing because your plot is great. x
