Hey Kat! So your book idea is very interesting, not something I was thinking of when I saw Fanfiction as the genre. I was quite skeptical honestly, but you did a pretty good job with the first few chapters.
The cover of your book isn’t as good as the ones for your other books. I really don’t really like all of the pink. You communicate a lack of feelings through both the title and first couple of chapters, so all of the pink is deceiving. If you were to have a grey background and light pink words, I think it would look better. However, it serves its purpose.
As far as grammar goes, the only issue I saw was the incorrect use of ‘your’ and ‘you’re’. ‘Your’ should be used when you talk about possessions while ‘you’re’ is a contraction and should be used instead of the words ‘you are’. If ‘you are’ doesn’t sound correct in the sentence, you’re using the wrong word.
Within the few chapters you’ve written you have shown the reader that Riley hates robots, but falls for one. Justin begins to be more and more human like, both in speech and appearance. The story seems to be moving very quickly.
This book doesn't draw me in like your other works. This story is set far in the future, and you don’t seem to be taking advantage to everything that comes with that setting. Each chapter lacks detail and is mainly dialogue, which can cause a reader to get bored very easily. I want to know what Riley’s surroundings are like, how they live, what the environment is like and your plot lends itself to that. Even though you put out a few hints, there was no major detail at all. I rated your story a 7.5 because it doesn’t draw the reader in, the cover doesn’t match the theme all that well, and it is moving very quickly. Although I love your theme/plot idea, the current chapters do just not enthrall me. Please keep writing; I want to see how these chapters improve. x
