I knocked on the door and rapidly replaced my dress with my hand.
The door opened and a lady with a face full of makeup wearing chic clothes -probably from a luxurious brand- appeared.
"Hello, I'm the private teacher, Elena Jane." I immediately declared.
The lady, Kate I think was her name, gave me a smile.
"Oh, hello Elena! Come in, come in!" She exclaimed.
I smiled too and entered into the big house.
''Rich people.'' Was my first thought as I entered to the house. It was pretty minimalist, but it almost had the size of a palace.
A little boy was playing with his cars on the floor of the living room.
"Nathan!" Yelled the lady. "Nathan!"
The kid immediately stopped his game, got up and ran somewhere. Was I that scary?
His mom sighed.
"I'm sorry, he doesn't like school and he's really shy. Anyway, I'm Kate Williams."
"Enchanted Mrs. Williams." I said.
"Oh please, just call me Kate."
Even though she had that "severe rich lady" look, she seemed pretty lovely and welcoming.
She went to the kitchen and asked,
"Want something to eat or drink?"
"No, thank you..." I politely answered with a smile.
"Wait for me here, I'm going to bring this little devil!" She laughed referring to her son, Nathan.
I went to the living room and sat on the black couch. The room was pretty well designed and decorated, but then, something suddenly caught my attention: a picture of a guy and a girl. The guy was holding the thigh of the girl with a little smile. He looked like he was my age, probably older.
I got up to take the frame so I could analyze the photo. His smile was ,in a certain way, adorable with two cute dimples and I could lose myself in his dark green eyes. Mine moved to the girl beside who was doing a duck face. Long and blonde curly hair. Were they the children of Mr. and Mrs. Williams?
"Nathan is here!"
I jumped and turned around to find Kate and Nathan who was hiding himself behind his mom. I felt so shy and embarrassed of the current situation and could feel the red all over my face. When she saw the frame on my hands, I quickly replaced the photo to its place and said,
"I'm...I'm really sorry. I just..."
"Don't be sorry, it's a picture of my older son, Hayden and his girlfriend, Ally."
